When Christians face two clearly immoral options, we cannot rationalize a vote for immorality or injustice just because we deem the alternative to be worse.

I picked that up in the other thread and agree.

What I don't agree with is that Trump is immoral and/or evil. He may be lost (not a confessing Christian). He is like all of us and is a sinner. Those things don't make him immoral.

Hillary is proven to be evil.

I agree. I consider myself a staunch conservative but a common sense one. All this Trump hate is crazy. Read his plan on repealing Ocare. He may not be Ted Cruz conservative but he can win because he's a fighter.

    Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign

Glenn Beck just said something that hit me pretty hard: "Silence in the face of evil is evil itself." I think I would have to vote for Trump over Hillary. It would not be support for that knucklehead though, just a vote against pure evil. I don't think Trump is evil. He is a confused old man who probably means well, but just in over his head, but not evil. Although holding himself up as a Christian, bragging about having affairs on his wife, and just generally being a punk with his words does not portray good character.

You forced me to read up on him... fiscally conservative, socially liberal, wants to cut military by 43%. Nope.

What are Trump's conservative bona fides? You say he's not as conservative as Cruz. Where you do see him as conservative?

    Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign

    Romney speech right now highlights:

Trump's plans (trade wars) would be a disaster for the economy.
Trump's bankruptcies have crushed small businesses.
He inherited his business, not a genius.
He is right on appealing Obamacare.
The three other candidates are all better options.
Insulting all Muslims will hurt efforts to fight terrorists.
Donald is very, very not smart on foreign policy even though he tells us he is very smart.
    He mocked a disabled reporter.
    He mocked Megyn Kelly
He admires Putin and thinks GWB is a liar. (calls evil good and good evil)
Mocked McCain for being captured by Vietnamese.
His temperament is not stable enough to be president.
    He's a bully.
    He's greedy.
    He's a blowhard (shows off).
Would you want your children or grandchildren to act like Trump?
Will he attack me with low blows after this speech? Let's watch.
Then he talked negative about Hillary and pointed out that he can't beat her (behind in the polls). And she must not become president.
A Trump nomination enables her victory.
There is plenty of evidence that Trump's a farse and a con man. He's a phony.
Predicts bombshells in his tax returns. He will never ever release them. Too much to hide.
Will not release tapes with NY Times. We need to hear it.
Presidents should be men of character and integrity and do what's right for America. Should put interests of country above their own.
He calls on the use of torture.
His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University.
    He's playing Americans as suckers.
He doesn't have the judgement to be president.

Meh... this will also fall on deaf ears.

Enforcement of laws is the biggest. Imigration is the biggest issue followed trade.

Interesting. Trump seems to be in favor of trashing the 1st amendment...that's a pretty good law to enforce.

Ronaldus Magnus was for, essentially, open borders. Was he conservative?

Isn't sin immoral and evil? Trump has glorified his sexual immorality. Trumps refusal to ask for forgiveness is an indication of pride. Trump has lied, nearly daily, about past positions.

I'm not refusing to vote for him because he's immoral, but because his ideas are bad. I am interested in how you classify Hillary as evil, but don't see Trump in the same light.

But, Reagan was not for a welfare state, and if you have open borders and a welfare state you will soon go broke. Also, Reagan did not have to deal with the prospect of terrorists using instability in the middle east to infiltrate our borders and cause us harm.

It's like the Apple phone thing going on. They want to get the ability to break into everyone's personal devices in the name of fighting terror, when the easiest approach would be to control our borders and fully investigate all those coming into our country to make sure they are not coming over here to harm us. They don't need access to MY data to do that!

I am not a Trump fan, but I do think controlling our borders is the most important thing we need to do to make sure our country even exists under our constitution in a decade or so.

That's pretty libertarian. If it doesn't pertain to the protection of life, liberty, or property, the govt has no place in it or spending money on it (according to libertarian principles). Combine that with the principle that what it is wrong for one man to do to another is also wrong for a group to do to another, and you usually get those three policy types.

You won't find many with a brain who don't believe Hillary has committed several murders during her rise to power. What she allowed in Benghazi is the same as murder. While Trump may be a POS he is not satanic like Hillary.
