Trump would pick up the pissed off, Kasich would pick up the traditional, and the remaining Republicans would hold their nose and vote against Clinton.

    Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign

Totally under estimating how many people will simply sit this one out. I know so many conservatives that will not, for a myriad of reasons, vote for Trump.

And before some smart guy tells me that's the same as a vote for Hillary I would simply reply that a vote for Trump is the same thing. Knowing you have an actual Conservative who isn't in the establishments hip pocket, in Ted Cruz, and choosing to vote for Trump instead, knowing he has some of the highest disapproval ratings in history is putting Hillary right in the White House. A vote for Cruz is a vote for Conservativism and the Constitution. A vote for a Trump is a vote for Hillary.

You're making your bed. Get ready to sleep in it.

Trump's entire mantra is all about bringing down the establishment. The GOP-E supporters are never going to agree to a Trump led ticket. It wouldn't matter if a time-traveling Ronald Reagan was his VP, true conservatives, both establishment and anti-establishment, know that Trump is anything but conservative. He has duped a large contingent with his tough guy rhetoric, but beyond his rhetoric there is nothing conservative. Rubio was right to call him a con-man.

That's a joke right? Rubio will endorse Cruz. His staffers have already mentioned it. He'll wait until right before AZ.

I would be shocked if Rubio endorsed Trump. Carson and Christie are the only ones that have sold their souls so far. I don't believe Rubio will and if Kasich drops out, no way he will.

The ONLY way Rubio endorses Trump is if the endorsement comes with a VP announcement. That's not going to happen.
Kasich will not endorse Trump unless Trump ends up with the nomination. Not a moment before that nomination is in hand.

Fantastic article on the rise of Trump and why ratings mean more to conservative media than what's good for our country.

All you trump haters seem to forget the past 20 years. I am a disenchanted conservative because there are not enough of us to win the Republican nomination. If Cruz were to win, he would lose the general. I am willing to gamble that Trump will be better than the Bushes when he wins. Hopefully more fiscally conservative.

If you have not run your own business, you don't understand Trump's mind. Trump will not be able to waste money like a politician. Not being beholden to lobbyist will give him the freedom to do what he thinks is right for the people.

Like I said it's a gamble but you guys that only look at him as a bafoon don't see the potential of a Trump president. I am not asking you to suck it up and vote for Trump but to look at the potential upside before staying home and not voting.

Agree, why would I put my trust in someone who doesn't share my values? He gets his clock cleaned with foolishness every debate. He funds people who I believe want to destroy/fundamentally transform our country. The establishment hates Cruz more than Trump, and Cruz is a strict conservative who can be trusted because he has strong constitutional principles... and he's actually a good man. I don't see how a moderate rino, deal-maker came in and stole his thunder. This was our chance and we blew it. At this point, I'm hoping the establishment will force Jeb on us, at least he's experienced and level-headed. I am angry with the establishment too, but not angry enough to destroy the country over it. That's just nuts. This really is a very serious job.

How do you know this? Trump is his own lobbyist.

I guess you haven't seen how terrified the never trump people are. The establishment are lobbyist and the donor class. He will owe them nothing.

I disagree that Cruz would lose to Hillary. I think we would have seen a conservative actually be able to do something to restore sanity in our country. The hate of Hillary by Bernie would have kept them home, and Christians would have actually voted this time for Cruz. I see no potential other than further destruction of our country and lots of people that realize they were complete idiots to believe in Trump. IF Trump is the nominee, I will vote for him, but he will not be good for our country. We can only hope he will not be as bad as Hillary.

    Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign

T1, what happened to all the sunshine pumping. I credit you for changing me into looking at the positives and you are beyond negative about trump.

The Bushes blew it for conservatives. The father was a RINO and W spent like a democrat.

When we elect the same people and get bad results, who is to blame. We are for electing bad people. Cruz would be great but unelectable, he'll he is getting destroyed by Trump in the Republican primaries and you think he would do better than trump in the general.

Time to unite around trump. The funniest thing about this election, is when trump wins, the Republican congress is going to finally find a backbone and fight a sitting president. Too bad they were so weak because they are scared of being called racist.
