    I'm not anti-establishment by a long shot. I am pro-freedom.

That would depend on their religious view. If the libertarian believes as I do that life begins at conception, then the libertarian would say that your freedom doesn't extend to taking another's life. If the person believes that life begins with the first breath, them they will be pro-abortion. I don't want to get into the debate of which is right, but that should help you understand why individual libertarians would disagree on that issue. That would be no different than anybody else ls and from any party. It all depends on when you believe life begins. It isn't and inconsistency. We believe that your freedom ends at the tip of my nose.

There's no longer any debate about that. Life clearly begins at conception. The question is when life deserves protections.

Gary is wrong about abortion. No debate needed. It's settled.

For most libertarians this is not a problem. Neither is gun control. It's all about freedom. Freedom while smoking weed is most important.

What exactly is Trump's most recent position on abortion?

He loves the babies. Babies and Trump have a great relationship. They love him. He's hugely pro-life. It's a dynamic and beautiful pro-lifeness...it's better than anything we've seen. You're gonna love it.

While I do agree with you, it is an issue that doesn't sway my vote very often. The Republicans certainly haven't changed anything concerning abortion. They talk about it to get rhe Christian vote them don't do anything. I used to vote that issue, but don't anymore because Republicams lie about it.

We are losing freedoms at an exponential rate. I'm voting for freedom.

with that said, on q moral level, abortion is a horrible, unthinkable atrocity. No matter what your view is on the extent of divine intervention, this level immorality cannot go on without serious consequences.

I suppose I should have said, when does God impute a soul into that life. But, I have a feeling that most people who believe abortion is okay don't think much of or about what God thinks. ;-)

Like others have mentioned, most libertarians aren't for or against "abortion". Most libertarians realize it isn't their job to make that decision, but since a few have thrown out "baby killers", you don't get to be high and mighty when you are for protecting the child in the womb but don't give much concern once they are born.

I also don't understand how some people make a presidential decision based off a man's view on abortion. Illegal abortion is a nightmare, and it does nothing to help the situation. You simply drive into alleys, bed medical practices, and other bad alternatives. It's not a fun topic, but as someone who leans libertarian, I honestly do not feel it is my best move to make that decision for any woman and/or family in such a scenario.

You're not making a decision for a woman, you're protecting an innocent life. You know...life, liberty, and all that jazz. We're either for it or against it and my friend maddawg is absolutely right that libertarians are inconsistent on this issue.

If you believe life begins at conception, all that loses meaning.

Because all you have to do is change your scenarios to infanticide to see how a libertarian *ought to feel about its legality.

Libertarians wouldn't be ok with mothers killing their postpartum babies legally (even if making that action illegal had the result of making such a murder more dangerous). A libertarian (I assume) is ok making that decision for a woman. The question is whether it's really the same thing or not (and as Sooner points out, libertarians are divided on that).

I agree 100 percent, but are Clinton or Trump going to push the pro-life, no exception position? If they are not then using Johnson's position on abortion as a reason not to vote for him is ludicrous.
