I wonder if there's an angle for CUSA, MWC and maybe the MAC (because of where their schools are) to form a marketing consortium to try and get a better media deal.

Who's going to the Big 12? Cincinnati, Memphis, BYU? I think Baylor and Texas would be ok with Houston, but TCU and Texas Tech probably won't like it. Whichever will leave at least one if not two places in the American Conf. We really need to shine attendance and performance wise to have a shot at the American.
Well....at least not yet.But be careful, that's probably next.
I could easily see the P5 conferences implementing a new "recruiting" system that allows the P5 schools to sign more players than the G5's are allowed to sign. Just imagine a new world where LSU is allowed to sign 40 football recruits per year, and LA Tech is only allowed to sign 25.
Don't say it can't happen. When THIS much money is at stake, it CAN happen.
Probably so. The G5 would have a lot more bargaining power if they "unionized" in a sense. I imagine there'd be less exposure, but better revenue.
I've always thought that if you have to unionize for bargaining power, your product is not really worth what you think it should be worth. And that's the real problem. G5 football ain't worth much.

Conference USA is re-negotiating contracts with Fox Sports, the CBS Sports Network and the American Sports Network, and they are expected to carry the bulk of the league's TV coverage.
But it was also learned recently that ESPN is close to cutting a deal that would return C-USA games to the nation's most popular sports cable channel.
Texas-San Antonio athletic director Lynn Hickey appeared to confirm that recently during an alumni outing in Dallas. According to a Tweet from@utsadfwalumni, the Twitter handle for a UTSA alumni group from Dallas-Ft. Worth, she told a group of alumni that UTSA's Sept. 16 home game against Arizona State will be televised on ESPN2.

I'm sure they had an opportunity to bid. I have a feeling that our online presence will be espn3 & campus insiders
Time for a Southern based league taking the best of Sun Belt and CUSA.
East: UAB, MTSU, WKU, Marshall, Georgia Southern
West: USM, ULL, LaTech, Arky State, Rice
Seems like most USM fans support this setup. What about you Tech fans?
I know I am probably in the minority here, but it would not bother me much to include A State. To me, better than playing the Florida schools. I would not leave out North Texas, though.
