Heidi Cruz, the wife of U.S. Senator and former presidential candidate Ted Cruz, was abruptly hustled off the floor of the GOP convention at the Quicken Loans Arena Wednesday night near the end of her husband’s speech. Ted Cruz was nearing the finish of his highly-anticipated address and Republican delegates were realizing that Cruz was not going to endorse Donald Trump. People in the crowd began booing Cruz, shouting “We want Trump!” Meanwhile, on the floor, Ken Cuccinelli, a former Virginia attorney general and a staunch Trump opponent, quickly ushered Heidi Cruz to safety as anger grew among the people surrounding them. “People behind her were getting very ugly and physically approaching her,” Cucinelli reportedly said later. “It was not a pretty situation.” Video captured by reporters on the floor at the time showed the moment he hustled her away from the angry delegates, who shouted “Goldman Sachs!” at her. She used to work at the bank as an investment manager prior to her husband’s presidential bid.

I don't get the yelling of Goldman Sachs as if it some insult. Don't those people realize they're agreeing on a stupid Obama & Co policy thinking that?

Nope...but it was plenty stupid. Trump controls the content of the convention. He NEVER should've let Cruz have the podium. Another of the numerous missteps of this curious candidate.

They've got nothing else. Had to criticize her in some way because she's Ted Cruz's wife. (just being hateful)

    Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign

Getting the thread back on an adult-level again...

I think Trump helped himself last night. His speech was about as good as he can do. Usually candidates get some kind of bounce coming out of the convention, so polls taken today or over the weekend will probably show he's picked up a point or two vs. Killary. Might even be ahead in the national poll, and across many states. But this time next week, that advantage will be erased.

Most importantly, Trump has made this a race. He actually has a mathematical chance to win this thing. The debates will be crucial. Trump has got to win those, plus he has got to become "more presidential." It appears his "handlers" are advising him to tone down the rhetoric, and it is working. That is a big reason he's improved in the polls recently. As everyone knows, the deck is stacked against the Repub candidate. The electoral college, with the power situated in so many big libtard states, gives the demo candidate a huge advantage. It's almost at the point that the demo has to lose the race. Kind of like a favorite football team needing to fumble 5 times to help an inferior opponent. But, Killary has already fumbled several times, which is why the polls are close, and she could fumble some more, especially in the debates.

Now, the final piece of the puzzle has to be the Repubs closing ranks. The Bush family, for instance, needs to quit their candy-ass whining, and come out in support of the Trump-Pence ticket. It would be a simple thing:

"We support the ideals of the Republican Platform, conservative, REAL American values. And we support the national ticket, Trump-Pence, and all Republican candidates running for various offices across the nation."

    That phrasing is telling.

"We support conservative, REAL American values, and we also (on an almost unrelated note) support Trump."

It's like "I support healthy food, and also hot dogs." Differentiating between the two may actually be a way for the Bushes to say something like that.

Why- Cruz was the one that looked stupid, not Trump. Cruz is also the one that hurt himself politically if Trump wins.

I saw a tweet that won the world wide web: "Cruz plagiarized his speech...from Benedict Arnold."

He hurt himself on a national scale no matter what happens. People in Texas have a great conservative senator, but he lost what appeal he had with the ultra-conservatives outside of Texas.

Texas people didn't look too happy.

Unlike the dysfunctional Louisiana GOP, Texas' GOP will forgive and forget.

I still can't believe our conservative people elected that goof ball JBE over a guy with a proven conservative record.

If Trump is who Cruz thinks he is (an incompetent douchebag dictator wannabe knucklehead who doesn't understand the Constitution and how government works), he can be seen as the guy who said, "I tried to warn you... this is why I couldn't endorse him." and actually beat him in the next Republican primary. If he's not who Cruz thinks he is (or if he loses to Hillary and never shows who he is), Cruz will look like a boob.

We have a lot of idiots in our state. The republican party in LA allowed that to happen. I have heard a lot of people with voter remorse.

Cruz does look foolish. Even if Trump sucks, he is so much better than Hillary it isn't even close. Hillary appointing any SC justice is a terrifying thought. If Cruz can't see past his own hatred for the good of the country, he will have a very short political career. People will not forget. He may keep winning in Texas- but maybe not even there. I would still have supported him before, but after hearing him whining like a baby yesterday, I wouldn't now either. He should care about the good of America, and clearly that doesn't matter.
