I know you are kidding, but the West Texas Plains are one of the few areas that still grow large quantities of cotton in the US. The City of Lubbock was built around agriculture.

Can't wait to hear Teddy's talk on Lubbock history.

Our car got hit by a tumbleweed out there one time. Shattered the grill on the front of our suburban.

The freshman that started against Arkansas was not close to the passer that the senior is.
Louisiana Tech on the other hand does have some good stats, limiting explosive plays, which is something to watch, as well as winning the battle in field position and being terrific in both rushing and passing explosive plays. The Bulldogs keep things in front of them.

Still quite a bit around Dallas, too. Mostly south of Dallas. Saw a lot along I35W and around Ennis to Midlothian.

Harris County planted about 34,000 acres this year. That sounds like a lot and certainly looks like a lot from the road.

Lubbock County planted over 200,000 acres this year. The top 11 cotton producing counties in the US last year were within 80 miles of Lubbock.

It seems crazy that cotton has all but disappeared from North Louisiana. I remember as a kid and teenager we would play hide and go seek in the endless rows of modules that was stacked on the gin yard. There was usually an ER visit with each story lol

Yes it is crazy. Approximately 145,000 acres planted in Louisiana this year. Probably had over 500,000 acres back in the day.

    Were did you grow up?

Texas is a big state and there is a lot of ugly out there. BTW you know you can cross the Sabine River and still be in Texas.

No more "Pickin' and Ginnin' Festival," which is a bummer.
