That wasn't a fade pass. When I think of a fade, I'm thinking the QB lobs the ball over the DBs head towards the back pylon where only the WR can make a play. This was more of a stop pattern or curl-type route where the QB throws a dart to the outside shoulder (away from the DB). This was Carlos Henderson's position, but he left the game injured and Bonnette is his backup.
No, it was an under thrown fade pass toward the back corner of the end zone. It was not a dart pass. In fact, IMO, he should have thrown a quick dart slant pass to the inside.Originally Posted by T1
I'm also blaming Higgins, he never went through the progression on the last two passes, if he's going to stare someone down that hard why even send the other receivers? Henderson or Connor Smith would've been better option if Trent Taylor over the middle was covered.
What was his progression? What pre-snap coverage did he read?

It probably won't help. I'm starting to think it may not be a "coaching" issue as much as a "personnel" issue on defense. Our LB's and CB's are far too slow for FBS football. Santos may be the slowest LB I've ever seen at this level. He really has no business being on the football field. We need to replace him with someone younger, that can run like a deer.
Prince Sam has been our worst cover guy all year. I see why now. He's waaaay too slow too. The UMASS RB (Young) ran over 180 degrees around Prince Sam for the UMASS TD, even though Sam had the angle on the runner the whole way. There was a reason Prince Sam played at Houston Baptist before LA Tech. He's got NO SPEED.
Maybe SPEED is what they need. A quick hit between series ought to do it.

I don't really see how this D will be able to stop a good discipline offense. Our D is weak in so many different levels of the game at this point. Our CB and safety seem to be always out of position. Third and long and we gave up 15 yards due to the 3 men rush.
We don't play anymore of those until usm
Baker don't coach special teams.
We need USM to lose another game.
Any QB with a pulse can tear our 2ndary apart.
