Defense had some trouble but Xavier's pick was huge. Special Teams played a big role in the win: Carlos's 2 big returns, pinned them down tight a couple times, much improved tackling returners.

They started inside the 25 or worse 6 out of 9 kickoffs. We started inside the 25 or worse 2 out of 5 kickoffs. (It credits Bobby Holly with a kickoff return. What was that?)
Found it. Certainly better, but needs to be cleaned up. Not great.

This was a definite improvement from the last 2 weeks. Good things happen with HCSH realizes a problem needs to be fixed.

We have the 5th best number of sacks (29) in the nation (led by Ferguson with 8 who is 2nd in nation), only 3 away from Alabama, and 2 away from Clemson, Texas, and TCU.
Also, 16th in tackles with 655 (and WKU has 666 total tackles...)
X has all but 1 of our 6 INT's (he is 2nd in nation).
We are 74th in total defense w/ 417/g (SoMiss 16, WKU 55, NT 65, ODU 66, FIU 81, & MTSU 95).
We are 115th in pass defense w/ 282/g (SoMiss 11, NT 28, UTEP 49, FIU 61, UTSA 74, ODU 81, MTSU 99, & WKU 114).
We are 34th in rush defense w/ 135/g (WKU 11, UNCC 43, SoMiss 46, ODU 65, UTSA 74, & MTSU 78).
