Well, I drove to Hattiesburg today only to be treated to one of the most pitiful efforts I've ever seen a La Tech football team put forth. Our pass defense and our special teams are the worst I've ever seen at Tech. I won't be attending another football game until Baker is at least reassigned, and we hire a special teams coach. I just can't sit through that crap anymore.

Just barely. Higgins had 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles today, but we managed to save both fumbles by having a white jersey get to them first.

How about the offense? They were equally as good as the defense, 22 points and 300 yards below the season average.

As I undersrand it from many on the board, it is customary to have a position coach handle Special Teams. We will most likely never have anyone devoted to ST only. Unless we decide our DB's and Linebackers can be coached by 1 guy and/or our running backs and receivers are coached by 1 guy. I agree that Baker needs to be reassigned. Possibly as the "get back" coach.

Why play a zone when you don't know how? I'd much rather play press coverage, not give them the easy throws.

Great point! Probably got some good coaching in high school, or back in Pop Warner, and never forgot how to actually play defense.

There are tons of defensive coordinators across the country watching our game right now. Every one of them is thinking, "You know, if Louisiana Tech paid 1/3 of what a coordinator actually cost, I would go there today and turn that thing around with the exact same players."
