^^^THIS!!! It's what Trump fans have always loved about him that the rest of the world --most Republicans included-- just can't understand. Trump fights back, and we love that about him.
Bush --because he continually got very bad advice from Karl Rove-- never fought back. Consequently, Bush let nasty lies and rumors fly untested for YEARS. Ultimately, he let the other side frame the arguments to their favor. Not only did it hurt Bush during his last term in office, it also hurt the conservative cause for the long term. It was very, very selfish of Bush.
If democrats don't want to reach across the aisle to work with Trump and Republicans, that's fine. I don't want any of them praising or taking credit for the things that succeed. I do want them to accept credit for items that fail because they could have stood up and stopped it but chose not to work with him. As a matter of fact, it will save a bunch of money if they just go home since they don't want to work.
McCain, Rubio, and Graham will do all they can to help the democrats stop 'em.

I agree. To get everything he wants through congress, Trump is going to need votes from some of the RED STATE, Democrat senators that are up for re-election in 2018. McCain and Graham are both quintessential establishment dinosaurs that are having a hard time accepting the fact that their days of running things are finished. Nobody gives a shit what either of them think anymore. I think that Rubio will soon see the error of his ways and get with the program of "draining of the swamp" in DC that we so desperately need to happen.
Rubio is just playing the game of "politics." I bet he agrees with 99% of what Trump wants to do. But, he wants to position himself as the "reasonable alternative" to an "out-of-control" Trump come 2020 and/or 2024. Rubio is TRYING to appease both sides, or I should say, ALL sides, and become that guy most people can accept, the "consensus candidate."
So, will Congress ever pass law putting term limits on themselves?
You describe what McCain and Graham think they are perceived as. Most of the people who voted for Trump see them as traitors and corrupt to the core. I figure that's what Rubio strives to be as well.
Not a chance, but those who vote in favor of term limits need to be re-elected for sure.
