Trump could accomplish SO MUCH MORE if he didn't insist on getting into pissing matches constantly. I know that SOME of it is planned to divert attention, but he's reached a level of diminishing returns. I don't know if he refuses to be advised or if his advisors are crap, but he's giving the MSM and the left all they need to insure he's constantly battling them.

Thank God the dems are a dumpster fire right now.
Bush was establishment all the way. The other establishment members knew how far they could go. Even Gore caved eventually.

The Trump situation is way worse. Other than being his own enemy, his own party members have decided to do whatever they can to avoid tax reform or a real health care fix. They are all corrupt.

And it was totally narcissistic in that he was placing priority to removing the "cloud" over his presidency ahead of the integrity and independence of our investigative agencies. It was also self-destructive for the reasons you have already mentioned and we are seeing now.

Trump is not fit to be POTUS and if this misstep doesn't get him, I don't think he can stop himself from getting into trouble again.

This isn't a failure to understand the "system" but it is a pattern of him putting his priorities over fundamental principles of ethics that should underlie good government and do still largely underlie our government despite all the criticism. He is too narcissistic to see the value of an independent FBI. Loyalty over independence is absolutely unacceptable. That in itself is indefensible.

Even good sustainable business practices are predicated on some strong ethical principles - if you ignore them, you will eventually get caught, and they will sink you. I don't get the impression that the Trump companies are based on strong ethical policies either.

Why is it important to you that Trump is a liar when you know almost every elected SOB up there is to some extent? None of them are "ethical". You hate Trump first and foremost.
Because he openly pisses on principles that are existentially important. His flagrant disregard for integrity normalizes deviation from these principles - and that is so dangerous.

Your description is the way Washington operates. Those aren't principles he is pissing on, they are a form of corruption he has never had to deal with.

    Agency independence is not corruption.

This is a bunch of nothing. The left (and Trump haters) will see what they want, and the right will see what they want. There is nothing here that is actionable. Won't stop them from trying.

The term hater has been used a lot, but there are a lot of people that genuinely hate Trump. Guisslapp has proven to be one of those. I think it is clouding his judgement too.

Russian attempts to influence our last election are real. Let's see where the money trail leads. Comey' story really not that important but the media likes it. Clearly, Trump;s actions are not surprising given his character. I certainly would not buy a used car from him but that doesn't mean that I hate him. My feelings toward him are more like pity.

The haters aren't to blame for this. This is ALL on Trump. Obstruction or not, he was STUPID in this situation...but he's not stupid, so the question remains: Why does he act so foolishly when an ounce of decorum could've totally prevented all this.

He is not part of the corrupt and well oiled machine. He has members advising him, but apparently he only takes some of the advice. He is not a good listener.

He can ride into the office on that "it's okay if I act stupid because I'm an outsider" momentum, but he won't be a very effective leader with that garbage. He's supposed to be some business genius right? Don't business geniuses know how to adjust to increase productivity? And again, don't blame the big bad media...this is crap Trump has done to himself.

No argument with either of those statements.
