WASHINGTON – CNN, the network famously dubbed “fake news” by President Trump, misreported an emotional moment before the Congressional Baseball Game Thursday, tweeting that it was only Democrats who knelt for prayer on the field.
James T. Hodgkinson, a Bernie Sanders supporter who was obsessed with Trump-Russia conspiracy theories, opened fire on Wednesday at a Republican congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, shooting Republican Rep. Steve Scalise, a congressional staffer, a lobbyist and a Capitol Police special agent.
Hodgkinson asked, “Are those Republicans or Democrats?” before gunning down Scalise, the House Majority Whip, and his security detail.
One day after the attack, lawmakers took the field at Nationals Park in Washington and gathered near second base, the position Scalise was playing when he was shot.
But instead of stating above a photo of the scene that members of both parties were assembled in a show of unity, CNN tweeted: “Members of the Democratic team gather on the field for a prayer before the Congressional Baseball Game.”

And it just like a Republican to want to get public acknowledgement for praying too!
It was totally fake news. It was both teams (Dems and GOP alike) that kneeled to pray. I watched it live! Does CNN not want any healing and coming together of our country and it's problems? So you are going to say it was only ultra biased or "misremembering" that they only reported democrats kneeling to pray?

CNN senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta tweeted a false report that said President Donald Trump did not visit with House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) in the hospital after Wednesday’s shooting, fueling fake news allegations.
After reports confirmed the news that President Trump had visited Scalise at MedStar Washington Hospital Center on Wednesday evening, Acosta tweeted the exact opposite per a White official, “WH official on hospital visit: “President Trump did not meet with Scalise and did not go into the room where Scalise is being treated.”
Acosta quickly deleted his original Tweet but not before it was captured by several Twitter users; many of them accusing the CNN reporter of spreading fake news.
It didn't say Republicans weren't praying. As far as healing goes, I suspect that was the point of pointing out that Democrats were showing some sort of solemn support for an attack on Republicans. But something as simple as that can easily be lost on those Republicans that want to be praised for their proudness.
