You are redefining snowflake. Snowflakes melt. Millennials have been labeled as snowflakes because they (allegedly) can't take criticism and need to be coddled as if they are delicate, like a snowflake. The term has been applied to liberals (particularly students having liberal view points) by conservatives because these students couldn't (allegedly) handle being educated on non-liberal points of view and would complain at the prospect that someone would try to lecture on something that they disagreed with, again because their sensibilities are so delicate.
So, you see, turnaround is fair play particularly where your sensibilities are getting offended. You are being delicate - like a snowflake.

Responding to this statement in particular:
"And yet, people are saying all over the place that they'll never watch another NFL game because some players did something they didn't like (which seems like you're painting with a broad brush about being upset over people painting with a broad brush, but - you know, that's where we are)."
The actions are certainly by some players. That is true. It is also being expressly permitted by the governing organization. An organization that has previously quashed attempts for players to show support of other causes they deem controversial. It is certainly more than just a few lone players (although when it was basically just Kaepernick people were already threatening a boycott). It has become an issue for the entire organization.

"Russian bot" is my response to a copied and pasted fake news story (typically coming from WND). That is what Russian bots do - pose as real people in social media and post fake news geared to stir up the audience.
"Snowflake" is new for me but very old for conservative posters on this forum, particularly our own Russian Bot, and I am simply speaking in the only language these people seem to understand.

And yet here we are discussing our difference of opinions. And I would just like to say I am enjoying the discussion and I appreciate the people bringing different points of view into this discussion. To me, if you can stand up to a challenge you are not a snowflake. If you take some heat for your opinion and disappear, then you deserve the moniker. But that's just my definition.
And you have faith that he wasn't (all he said was that Alton Sterling was a unarmed...is that not true?)
Whether you agree is not the point. These protests are being labeled as disrespectful acts perpetrated by people that hate America. Reid, who was one of the first to act, says that's not true.

Perception is reality, and it seems most perceive their actions as disrespectful, regardless of motive. Actions have reactions & consequences, and this protest has divided more than united. As others have stated, offending people isn't usually the best route to awareness & change.
Perception is reality is a marketing slogan. It's seen as disrespectful because of the talking heads we fill our ears with. When, in any other context, has taking a knee been seen as disrespectful?
I would disagree that offending/startling people is not a good route to change. Anyone who's ever been in sales knows that doubt, uncertainty, and fear are great buying motivators.

I guess you can call ole Kap and see if he achieved anything from it. In one article I saw this morning, the poll they stated said 64% of Americans see it as disrespectful. Not standing at attention with your hand over your heart IS disrespectful and has always been viewed as such. A knee during the national anthem has never been acceptable, and is against NFL rules. I am guessing the route they have taken has closed people off from giving a rats behind about their plight.
