Since everyone with a heart agrees the Dreamers should be allowed to stay, why not go ahead and fix that before any more people needlessly have to suffer? Then move on to comprehensive immigration reform.
Something people agree on is not a real bargaining chip. A negotiation requires both parties to give and take. If there is agreement that the Dreamers should stay, they shouldn’t be used as leverage....unless Trump is lying and doesn’t actually care about them.
All the same issue.
During WW2 we could have stopped the death of ALL American soldiers by just throwing our weapons in the sea and coming home. Wouldn't that have been nice? How compassionate we would have been! No more chaplains visiting families to inform them of the death of their loved ones. Certainly you would have been for that, right?
What would the world look like today?
I hear there is a children's health insurance provision in the CR. I guess dems just don't care about American children!

No, sillyhead. The issue I was addressing was whether accommodating Dreamers represents a charitable action.
I maintain it's no more a charity than providing automobile infrastructure. Just because some may benefit from a thing more directly than others does not a charity make.
Why are dems using the health care of American children as a pawn in immigration legislation? Do they want American children to die?
Charity is the voluntary giving of help. Turning our heads to ignore our immigration laws and give preferred treatment is rather charitable.
The choices here are not either giving in and totally ignoring our laws and allowing this to happen again and again OR deporting them all. There is a middle ground.
