Some idiot on I-49 yesterday has no idea what a cruise control is....apparently. Speeds up, flies past me....slows down...I change lanes, go around him. Minutes later he's on my bumper, tailgating as I was passing a truck. Flies by....gets up the highway about 1/2 mile....next thing I know he's slowed down again, in the left lane, blocking the way. The whole time I was on cruise control...only once did I have to tap my brake to avoid rear-ending a truck. That idiot was all over the place! And, to boot, he shot me a dirty look one time when I eased past him and he had to wait and get behind me. Effing idiot! My speed was consistent, he was the one speeding up, slowing down, changing lanes....
Lack of cell phone etiquette...
Today during a ceremony while a young person was delivering a speech in front of several hundred people seated at tables, I notice how many adults were looking down at their phones. Many were actually holding their phones not just looking at them laying on the table.
Did you REALLY have to bring your phone in to the luncheon? Can't you do w/out it for a couple of hours? Phones are not appendages.
I attended a required CEU event last week, and the organization was collecting $25 fines if your cell phone was even seen during the actual session. It was okay to use your phone during breaks, out in the hall, but you had better turn it off and hide it before re-entering the classroom.
They collected $300+ all of which is to be donated to the organization's favorite charity. (either that or the board members treated themselves out to a fabulous dinner).
I think most erratic drivers, even the ones in Escalades, are primarily erratic BECAUSE OF CELL PHONES.
