He read the headline and it confirmed his beliefs so he just ignored the content of the article. The article he posted doesn’t support his headline or his belief.

Mexican drug cartels have set up their own "legal" operations in Colorado, growing it, but selling it in other states where it's not legal. They don't have to worry about crossing state lines and having to stop for check points/inspections. It's also a lot cheaper growing it closer to the end users, making their profit margins higher. Now, if it is made legal in every state that scenario is rendered null and void for them.

You can readily see just how fast the criminal element jumps on opportunities. They are a lot more agile than the cumbersome guvmint bureaucracies trying to keep up with 'em. In this case, anti-drug-smuggling operations by the US DEA is focused on our southern border. Little wonder they were bragging about the amount of drugs (MJ) coming across the border being down, and patted themselves on the back for it. Ah, nope! The cartels were simply growing it legally in Colorado.

Which is why I said “what exactly did Trudeau say”? I already know Trump’s opinion of what he said.

    Re: President Trump

I read all that, but surely there was something beyond:

“I highlighted directly to the president that Canadians did not take it lightly that the United States has moved forward with significant tariffs on our steel and aluminum industry,” Trudeau said in a Saturday speech. “Particularly, [they] did not take lightly that it’s for a national security reason that for Canadians, who stood shoulder to shoulder with American soldiers in far off lands in conflicts from the First World War onward, it’s kind of insulting.”

How is that statement “backstabbing” or worthy of “a special place in hell”? How is that “weak and dishonest”?

I feel like there must be more that I haven’t seen, that is why I asked the question.

    Re: President Trump

This war of words between Trump, and Navarro, and Trudeau needs to stop, or at least get out of the public view. As is always the case, the "leaders" don't work out such matters. The negotiations, the details, are handled by "staff." So, both Trump and Trudeau need to issue a statement reiterating the great relationship between the US and Canada, and then both shut up and allow their staffs, and reps from the Department of Commerce, to roll up their sleeves and work this out. As I mentioned, this is NOT the first time we've gotten sideways with Canada on trade. It's happened many times before, and will happen again. But, it doesn't help matters to engage in tit for tat "statements."

Trump is right. He's right that our trade deals, including with our closest allies, disadvantage the US, and Americans!! As a nation we lose $500 billion of wealth EVERY year to these unfair trade deals. This hits the pocketbooks of average Americans too. It is NOT unreasonable to want to change those deals to keep more of our nation's wealth. But… there are better ways than Tweeting, to get that message across to our trade partners.
