Oh come on guys, DNA tests are just a massive invasion of privacy. We can’t have people proving that they actually are who they say they are.
Exactly.
Dems say Trump is using these kids as political leverage. They're right.
GOP says dems don't want to fix the issue, they only obstruct. They're right.
The right says the left is inconsistent because of their abortion views. They're right.
The left says the admin is acting brutally to throw red meat to the base. They're right.
When you put it all together, it's more honesty than we've had in politics in a long time.

The cost of the problem is very minimal until it affects you directly. However, as soon as it does affect you directly, the cost doesn’t matter and something should have been done by the admin to stop it.
The problem is that our immigration system is broken. We have a border, but we are weak in border enforcement. If we do find that someone is here illegally, we give them a court date to have a hearing and they just don't show up. They go to a sanctuary city instead.
This has likely caused hundreds of thousands to jump on the top of trains and travel through dangerous areas controlled by drug cartels, and no doubt has led to the grusome deaths of many thousands or caused many to be used as drug mules and allow for dangerous drugs to come into our country and make their way into our schools.
So, the cost is the thousands of lives destroyed by our weak immigration policy and border.
Why have we sent this kind of message to these people? Don't the people pushing these policies realize they are killing children and adults?
What about the US not paying for it at all? Have immigrants bring proof of familial relationship when they come seeking asylum or residency. Burden of proof is on them. Cost should be as well.
Nope. Just what I hear.
Are you arguing that these people do not leave their homes with nothing and travel through dangerous areas on the top of trains to get here?
Are you arguing that the drug cartels do not use the border crossings to move drugs into the US?
Some of it is just common sense.
I still think the problem goes back too even this law which I already posted.
"That’s because of something called the Flores Consent Decree from 1997. It says that unaccompanied children can be held only 20 days. A ruling by the Ninth Circuit extended this 20-day limit to children who come as part of family units. So even if we want to hold a family unit together, we are forbidden from doing so.
The clock ticking on the time the government can hold a child will almost always run out before an asylum claim is settled. The migrant is allowed ten days to seek an attorney, and there may be continuances or other complications.
This creates the choice of either releasing the adults and children together into the country pending the ajudication of the asylum claim, or holding the adults and releasing the children. If the adult is held, HHS places the child with a responsible party in the U.S., ideally a relative (migrants are likely to have family and friends here).
Even if Flores didn’t exist, the government would be very constrained in how many family units it can accommodate. ICE has only about 3,000 family spaces in shelters. It is also limited in its overall space at the border, which is overwhelmed by the ongoing influx. This means that — whatever the Trump administration would prefer to do — many adults are still swiftly released."

What I'm saying is that we need numbers in order to justify costly fixes. I don't trust what you're hearing from Laura Ingram anymore than I trust what someone else might be hearing from Rachel Maddow. Both parties have built a media that only pushes propaganda. Fox runs stories about illegals committing heinous crimes (something they do a slower pace than the average American citizen) and MSNBC says Corey Lewandowski was making fun of a child with downs syndrome (he was being an asshole, but he wasn't making fun of the child).
So, until I see numbers that compel me that the problem is costly enough to justify the incredibly costly solutions being offered, I maintain that these are just political gamesmanship by two parties that want power more than they want anything else.
When they start damaging children in their quest for power (which both sides do), I'm done and I'll call them out at every opportunity. The right was very effective in calling out Obama and Clinton (and to a lesser extent, GWB). What I've seen since DT rose to power is that the right has just as many hypocrites as the left and POWER is prize...they'll take it however they can get it.
