When someone confesses to a crime, it is inherently more believable than someone that tells a story where they are innocent. It is a question of motivation to lie. People are not generally motivated to lie when the lie implicates themselves or their interests. It is the same rationale as that which allows a statement made by an unavailable witness to be admissible hearsay evidence in Federal Courts as “a statement against interest”. These type of statements are inherently more trustworthy.

Also interesting that two of the House Republicans that first threw their support behind Trump, Collins and Hunter, are now under federal indictment. Never understood the expression “thick as thieves” until now. All of these guys are crooks.

Meanwhile on FoxNews website today, too headline is about the illegal immigrant that killed the girl followed by an article about whether to pardon Manafort and then an article on MS-13. A link to an article about Trump’s watergate moment and Cohen can only be found by scrolling much further down the page into the politics section. I guess a sitting president being implicated in a Federal crime is not big news to get more coverage on their website. No agenda there!

On the Nazi dude just deported. Just saw that when Trump took office there were 22 cases still hanging, mostly because we couldn't find a country willing to take them. This most recent deportation reduced that 22 number down to 9. He was also the 67th such deportation. So, that means that Trump has been responsible for 13, and will probably finish off the list soon.

Now, for a little history...

in the immediate aftermath of WWII we, the USA, brought former Nazi scientists and engineers here, so they could work in our industries, our R&D, and to keep them from falling into the hands of the Soviets. Most, if not all, of those scientists/engineers have passed away now. Many were up in years at the time. For the record, I support the US government, at that time, doing this. It made sense.

Germans have long been known for being smart people, especially in science and engineering. In fact, if Hitler had stayed out of their way, beginning in earnest in 1938, it is scary what the Germans would have developed and had operational by the early '40's. Hitler thought he knew better what Germany needed, especially in terms of military equipment. And, Hitler made it worse, for them, by authorizing projects, then cancelling them halfway through in favor of some other whim he suddenly had. The constant "gearing up", the building of factories to manufacture some weapon system, the cost and time involved, kept the German industrial machine chasing its tail. Because of that, the German military was deprived of many advanced weapons, they would have had, had Hitler stayed out of it. Some historians think....this includes nukes. And we know a lot of this because those scientists/engineers brought here, revealed what the Nazis had been doing, and what they could have accomplished.

And Today, Trump continues to praise a convicted tax and bank fraudster and criticize the prosecutors that went after him calling him a “brave man.” It is long past time for America to have a real leader again.

Remember when Trump went on FoxNews this morning and said he didn’t know about the payment until “later on”. And then the Cohen tapes come out that shows that he knew the payment was going to be made before the payment was made. This man will lie until the day he dies.
