Of course, once Goldwater campaigned against the Civil Rights Act, the Republicans brought many of the racist Dems into the fold and the black vote shifted Democrat.

I love the "strawman" thing when you are losing. The black vote began with LBJ and has never changed. Don't act like blacks suddenly voted for LBJ because he cared about them.
