the shit oozing out of ears has reached chest level
Even Dems running for office, who HATE President Trump, acknowledge the booming economy, and the historic figures in all-time employment levels, across the board. Of course, they kind of mumble..."Yeah, Trump deserves credit for the economy..." and then loudly... "BUT! there are other concerns, like healthcare, and the environment..." Right. We all have such concerns. So, get out of his way, or join our gallant president in finding solutions to those concerns.
But, as I said, even Dems acknowledge the blossoming economy. Everyone (but goosey) knows this is Trump's economy.
He is almost doing as good as Obama in job creation.
Here's the truth....
Yes, obummer inherited an economic mess....thanks to himself (when a senator) but mostly to Waters, Dodd, Frank, Schumer et al...and stupid GWB for agreeing to it all. And raw numbers in employment had tanked. Then for the first two years or so, the real unemployment rate was double digits. I saw 15% published, but the actual rate was 21%. Then, once the world economy mostly recovered from the financial meltdown, of course employment numbers began to improve. What it was was hundreds of thousands of vacancies being filled, due to the dem-caused crisis, and to make obummer look as good as possible (tough task), morons like goosey will compare 2016 numbers to 2011 numbers....all of which was obummer's fault....and say Looky! at the employment numbers improving.
It's like a crappy coach going 0-12 and then 0-12 in first two years, then by his 8th year he goes 6-6 and goosey says, Wow! look at the improvement! Meanwhile Coach Trump has gone 10-2 and now 12-0, but somehow we should long for the days of Coach obummer.
I wish Trump would do what Reagan did for press briefings. Have everyone come in and sit down and tell them to raise their hands and wait to be called on. If there is a outburst, the briefing is over. Either that or limit to one question and turn the microphone off after the reporter had asked their question.
Two years ago today...November 9, 2016....a great Tech Dawg, and a great American, Scott Collis, started this thread. Please join me in a moment of remembrance for our brother, a fellow Dawg. He is missed.
Does the president have to get Senate confirmation to appoint a temporary fill in for a cabinet position?
I believe so, yeah. Often people are already approved by the Senate for another position they hold/held and that suffices. But if someone has never been approved, I do think there is a process. I think someone can assume a position pending Senate approval, but can't remain if they ultimately don't get it.
Or….maybe not.
Subject to section 3346....alright then!
I did not read, and don't plan to, all that convoluted mess, but I think the POTUS can temporarily fill vacancies, subject to that section 3346. Appears such temp appointments are subject to a 210-day limitation, except for....and there are a few exceptions. Now, I also think, if I'm understanding this right, that 210-day period does not apply to someone who has already been confirmed by the Senate for certain levels in the administration.
Doesn't matter what Trump can do, can't do, etc...the Dems and the Deep State will insist he can't do anything....'cept exactly whatever it is they want him to do.
