I think the way it is phrased is a call to action rather than saying people do actually think a certain way because of the color of their skin. I think the sentences literally convey the idea that many of these folks do in fact think differently or are at least choosing not to lend their voice in protest (“We don’t need” in this context is understood by everyone to be the same as say that “we need all minorities to speak up against the bigotry that is directed at them”).
So, no, that is not bigoted/racist/homophobic by any standard. Maybe you don’t know what those words mean?
