Since I can’t read why don’t you just go back to changing my post so it can have a homophobic slant like you always do. While I don’t have the details of what actually happened I do find it funny that we are the only schools this keeps happening to. It’s almost like you can set a timer on when La Tech will trip over it’s own feet.

One of LSU's starting linebackers left the program because he couldn't stop smoking weed and failed too many tests. So, yes, it happens at other programs, including LSU.

Don’t you go listing other schools that have this problem. That screws up the narrative.

Are you suggesting this is the case?. Surely you're not that naive.
There are numerous guys who get suspended for violating team rules every single week. A lot of those are drug violations. It's just not information that gets out publicly unless it's one of the best players on the team/conference/country.

I want to believe 12-2 is still reasonably possible, but then I remember the last 3 quarters of the Marshall game. Aggravation this week. Let’s turn things back around in Alabama.

Stop being an idiot. Our guys weren't suspended for smoking pot. They were suspended for a "violation of team rules." Do you want links to stories of athletes all over the country who are suspended for that?

Here's a name for you: Michael Divinity. Starting LB at LSU. He "voluntarily" left the team. It didn't get reported, but what I was told is it was MULTIPLE drug-test violations and he got a 6-game suspension. These things just don't get reported because the schools refuse to talk about it and don't have to.

I'll ask again... And answer it as well. No.

This team wins in spite of Smith playing QB. All our QB has to do is not totally mess up, make the simple plays any college QB can make, and the team will beat the dregs and occasionally beat a decent team too. But we were NOT going to beat MU this weekend. So, without the suspensions the game would have played out pretty much as it did, especially if some of our guys decided to pull bonehead plays...like dropping snaps.

Smith has NOT won a single game in all his three years of starts. To be fair, it is actually rare for a QB to win a game. Drew Brees has won maybe 10 games in all the starts he has made for the Saints...that's something like 225+ starts. And he's a Hall of Famer to come. QBs, like the others, has to do his part, a cog in the machine. The great QBs earn an edge over time helping to win a few more games than an average QB would have won.

So, back to this. Allen is a mediocre QB like Smith. With Smith and Hardy the O would not have performed much better, or any better. Our scheme is so simple, so vanilla, any DC can devise a game plan to contain our offense. MU is a decent team, against which Holtz/Smith have a horrible track record.

So, stop the whining about the suspensions. We were gonna be 8-2 regardless.

Holtz will say he had to simplify the offense for Allen. Most of our fans will buy that BS just like they did for Smith for 2 years.

If you watched Allen on the sidelines any in previous games, he gave the indication that he was very engaged. Was in Holtz back pocket when we were on offense. Was throwing a lot when we were on defense. He looked like he was tracking with the O pretty well. Either he is just like Smith in that the game is too fast for him or he just doesn’t get it. The game is still too fast for Smith, but he is athletic enough to make up for starring down a receiver for 4 plays in a row.

Divinity left the team because of depression issues

Well if we lose against UAB we should just stick with Allen. No sense in ever bringing JMar back now unless we are still in the hunt for the championship game. Otherwise giving Allen as much playing time as possible will only help next year. Until the Tech administration does pee test again just before our Sugar Bowl appearance.

Ok. Then, if that's true, please send me a link to a story ANYWHERE where at least 3 STARTERS in the SEC, Big XII, ACC, AAC, Sunbelt, etc..... were suspended from a huge conference game like our guys were for smoking pot. You guys that are mouthing off about it --especially guys like you, in the media-- should have access to the "evidence."

I'm truly not trying to be adversarial about this. But, Louisiana Tech is OUR TEAM! And so far, all I've heard from you and few others is the typical skin deep "lip service" about how it's happening to everybody, "you just don't hear about it", etc...

No, if it was happening at an SEC school, you'd definitely hear about it. LOL! But nobody in the SEC is stupid enough to filet their team's leadership like this the week of the biggest conference showdown in at least a decade, over some college kids smoking pot . That would be suicide. This is not happening in the SEC. (Yes, they probably look the other way, which makes sense, considering the mildness of the offense.) And you can't prove it is, other than to say, "well, the occasional LB or Offensive Lineman received punishment", etc... LOL! That in no way compares to gutting your team on the eve of a HUGE conference game by suspending our own 5th yr STARTING QB, our Top Receiver (who was supposed to have an NFL future) and another starter.

This is a classic case of Skip Holtz winning the battle and losing the war.
