Hey....maybe that's the secret recipe? Maybe LA Tech could have beaten Marshall and UAB if we had suspended our Head Coach along with the players?
I think you’re on to something.

Suspending him might not be needed. Just have whoever is signalling in the plays ignore him.

Was yesterday a good or bad day for CUSA? What’s more important our conference champ stomping a solid AAC team or dropping two games to the Sunbelt?

I tend to think it was a bad day.

App State is now 13-1 and #20 which is a heck of a lot better than any Holtz coached team has ever been.

We are not in the best G5 conference. We are not in the best 2 G5 conferences. We are who our leaders expect us to be.

Next year will be a very different year for App State. Is there any reason why we didn't choose to go with our WAC brothers to the other conferences? Is that door closed?

If you mean Mountain West, it was never an option for us and never will be. Neither will AAC.

I was thinking the same thing. I frequently find myself doing things that could "never" happen.

My "never" is pretty solid. We need to at least double our budget to be in contention for the AAC.

Dominating our "peers" in C-USA would also be a plus.

That's for today's AAC. In the next round of realignment in 24-25 we don't know what the AAC will look like.

Yes, I think there is always a chance we will get an invite to the AAC and, then, all of 75% leave for another conference. WAC to CUSA to AAC. Southern Miss and Tech seem to make teams want to bail.

That's because schools like Tulane can only stay "above" us, if indeed they are, by being in conferences with better TV deals and better payouts. If we ever got on equal terms in that arena we would blow them away. And they know it.

Meanwhile, CUSA sucks on the field of play. Hopefully we'll do our part to salvage some pride this bowl season.

CUSA usually has 3 or 4 quality teams. FAU destroying SMU without their coach is a quality blowout. UAB hanging with #20 App St like they did is a quality loss (unless App St is overrated, but they are a quality program). Tech, WKU, USM, and Marshall are all at least average teams. FIU beat Miami (but probably Miami's WTF game), but had a disappointing season. Charlotte is not impressive, but they are a new program. I don't think these programs "suck." Not great, but not sucky either.
