Also, this has to be the most bungled federal government response to a disaster in my lifetime. Can’t tell if Trump just isn’t being briefed on the facts or if he just chooses to project his rosiest unrealistic hopes in the belief that he can bend reality to his wants.

Feel sorry for all these folks being trapped on this floating Petri dish off the coast of San Francisco. There has to be a better option than that.

Maybe the problems are at the state level. CA, NY and WA are all run by whacky liberals that have TDS as bad as you do.

It doesn’t have to mutate. It already has a higher death rate than the flu. And it is particularly dangerous for people like you. It has already killed 13 in a nursing home of 120. There are at least another 12 that died there recently that haven’t been tested.

The US has done 2000 tests to date. Testing is key to containing this disease. The test kits are just now getting to the states. Weeks late.

I’m not going out of my way to catch it, but my risk is very low compared to folks in nursing homes. I’ve confirmed that with medical professionals. But, anything is possible.

Life Care said a total of 26 residents have died since Feb. 19 at the acute care facility, which sees an average of three to seven deaths per month. That’s the date the first patient was transferred out of Life Care and later tested positive for the virus, and about a week and a half before the first confirmed cases from the nursing home were announced. The center continued to accept visitors for at least part of that time.

It is not known how many of the deaths are related to coronavirus, as the nursing facility has received the test results of 15 residents who died at the hospital, with 13 testing positive for COVID-19. The other 11 deaths occurred at the facility, and Life Care said it does not have information about postmortem tests that could reveal whether the residents died of COVID-19.

Maybe you should highlight these actual facts to your doctor.

If this virus kills fewer than the seasonal flu, it will be BECAUSE extreme efforts have been made to contain it. Testing is key to isolating and containing it.

Real businesses are spending real dollars in preparation for this virus. They aren’t doing that because if media hype. They are doing it because if they don’t, people will die.

You’re a businessman, follow the dollars. Trump and his water carriers can minimize this all they want, but you and I both know the market doesn’t pull back like it has on account of media hype or political bias.

Businesses are taking precautions, which they should. The market is down because Q1 earnings, and very possibly Q2 earnings, are going to be severely impacted. Or at least that is the perception right now.
