A little allegory for you.
When working in New Orleans, our department would organize and invite everyone to an annual Christmas luncheon (much like every other company). We would input suggestions as to which restaurant we wanted to go to, and over time the list would get pared down and eventually when it dwindled to two or three choices we'd take a final vote about a week before the event and make reservations with whichever one garnered the most support.
Naturally, the process became tribal (it was an accounting department), and you had a lot of folks spending way too much time trying to organize the employees into their group so they could "win" and get the restaurant picked. Nevermind that it was a FREE lunch on the company and at that time they'd actually throw in some booze, that just wasn't good enough for some.
Well, this one girl really spent a week or so hyperventilating and politicking to get "Ralph and Kacoo's" selected, with much whispering and calling of names and manipulation. Unfortunately for her, that restaurant was not selected, and a very highly-rated restaurant in the French Quarter was picked instead.
She spent a week pouting.
When we arrived at the restaurant she complained that parking was hard to come by and she was tired from the block or so walk to the restaurant. She complained the menu was too limited while we all found what we wanted, but she eventually settled on baked fish.
She complained loudly that the fish was "horrible" and sent it back to the kitchen because it tasted "fishy"! Eager to please, the waiter asked her to pick another dish and she chose some sort of beef product. Well, she complained about that just as loudly and said it seemed "veiny", and she pushed the meal away from her and drank only water (because the tea she ordered tasted funny, too). The chef even came out and asked if there was anything he could do, and she said the quality of the place was just not good and she'd just do without.
We were thankful she didn't order chicken after that, because I am certain it would have tasted "foul".

You realize we don’t even know who brought the cases into the US. It could have been Americans returning from foreign travel. It was most likely not Latin Americans crossing an unprotected border. The Coronavirus attacks all nationalities equally.
You do realize this correct? It is a Chinese flu. And these people spread it like crazy. Yes Americans could have also been in that city and in country. Yes they could have brought it here as well. Who knows the mindset of the China government and the larger picture.
