    Re: Covid - 19

Seeing some discussion, questions asked, on a FB page I follow...

There are 585 cases in the state and there have been 2,785 tests completed and verified. Does this mean the infection rate is running at (585/2785) at 21%? And, can we assume if all 4 million Louisianians were tested it would reveal 840,000 cases (21%)? I don't think so because so far the tests have been concentrated in the highest risk, already infected areas, like N.O. Statewide, I assume, the infection rate is much lower than that 21%. But it does show how panic can set in when folks don't have the facts and the proper way to view the situation.

Why some people insist on screaming "the sky is falling" is beyond me. I know why one certain person, on this forum, does it. He hopes to recruit more commies to his cause. I don't think he's having any success though.

See, this is what happens when you put an incompetent post-turtle in charge of a nation just because you think you want disruption. Well, disruption of a complex system causes a lot of disfunction. And when you put someone in charge that views all information in terms of “how does this fact make me look” you get a recipe for disaster.

This isn’t TDS. This is just life experience.
OMG, you are sooooooooo smart and wise. Wisdom beyond your years. We should have elected YOU as President, because you are so much smarter than virtually everyone else on the planet. Your life experiences qualify you for anything....will you be my life coach?

No need to be omniscient to see how this was mishandled...you don’t even have to be in Mensa.

I, and others like me, are reasonably cautious, open-minded to taking prudent steps. It's a risk vs. gain analysis. For instance, what is the risk of hunkering down at home, avoiding as much human contact as possible and riding this out vs. throwing caution to the wind? If it turns out to be "much ado about nothing" I would have lost practically nothing...a little income on the side, but would have spent 24/7 with my granddaughter! Priceless. If it turns out to be a truly highly contagious/deadly disease then such steps would have proven to be prudent.

As for Covid-19 we still don't know exactly what it is we don't know. Scientists around the world, the best we have to offer, are working around the clock trying to figure this thing out. There has been some "hopeful" news and yes, I trust medical science to ultimately kick this virus in the azz. I still hope and pray it will prove that we (the world) has over-reacted (to which I will say, good, glad it wasn't as bad as we thought). Not that we don't already know it is not something to trifle with.

Just please stop your gleeful cheerleading for everything bad to happen.

I kind of agree with Dawg80. This is almost as much posting of yours on the anti-Trump topics, you loved and cheered for so hard, of Russian collusion/Mueller probe, and the bogus impeachment crappola. You are hoping this takes Trump down just like the others. However, this current situation, not the film flam "Constitutional crisis" the liberals invented, involves real human lives.

The only ones that have mishandled this Kung Flu is China "big time" and past US Presidents for allowing or CDC and other Federal systems to be ill prepared. Trump and his ADM aren't to blame after only 38 months in office while under constant harassment by the Dems, the Deep State and liberal media the entire time.

Now I'm really mad! Local Walmart is rationing! Can you believe it, rationing!? We stopped in to pick up a few items including two packs of chicken winglets, since with my daughter and two grandkids, and one neighbor, a woman who lives alone and gets lonely, would be here to have supper with us tonight, we needed two packages of wings. Nope! the rationing police stopped us, could only buy one package. So, I did a quick about-face and went right back in to buy the other package.

Just wait til I call Sam Walton about this!

This wouldn't happen if they were allowed to raise prices in response to increased demand.

Question: how many airline pilots and attendants have Covid19? Tested? Tested positive? Ages? Severity?

These folks were subject to no social distancing and most certainly came in contact with "carriers" routinely...almost a worst case control group.

    Thoughts? Comments?
I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?

They aren’t anymore likely to be tested than your average Joe according to the commercial pilots I know.
