Does asymptomatic flu go into the flu counts? If not the flu mortality rate should also be 50% lower.

Flu count is based on estimates and not positive tests. It would be much worse if they only counted confirmed cases (edit: basically double so much worse is an overstatement). They have a good understanding of the flu so the estimates are considered highly accurate. I think they consider the number of flu cases to be roughly double the number that actually go to the doctor.

Still, by now we all know the kicker with Covid 19 is its penchant for causing a respiratory infection requiring a ventilator, which drives the actual mortality 10 times greater than its mortality rate if you don’t exceed your treatment capacity.

In other words, Fauci can’t persuade Trump to do what he thinks he should do if the media keeps pointing out where Trump and he differ. Putting them at odds, neuters Fauci because Trump can’t handle someone contradicting him.

I think the safe assumption is that the numbers the CDC uses to estimate total cases includes those who are asymptomatic but still spread the disease. I think a large part of the projection is based on how fast it spreads which would include some who are asymptomatic. The number certainly includes those who have symptoms so minor that they don't feel the need to go to the doctor. Would those be included in the 50% of asymptomatic cases? They have a pretty good handle on the flu numbers unlike this.

I am discouraged that Trump is pretty much negotiating directly with the dems on the stimulus bill.

If there is one nickel of dem pork, or dem reductions to my liberties, in the bill they try to pass....Trump is history in my book.
