We have a Coronavirus pandemic. How many can define what a pandemic is without using google? Hell, how many have googled pandemic? It’s not the first one we have faced as a country. Why did we shut down everything this time? The thing is the US President has not called for a nationwide quarantine.It’s local and state government that have issued these quarantines. The very thing most Republicans believe in.....what are the political leanings of the people passing these quarantines? It’ s a political issue, not a health issue. Our healthcare systems is not what we think it is. Everyone is talking community spread. I personally know someone with Covid-19. He was in the hospital a few weeks ago with bronchitis. They sent him home. He is now back in the hospital. His wife tested negative for Covid-19.
The US is on trend to have the most COVID-19 cases of any county in the world, including China, this weekend.

Saw some promising news about this virus. Researchers say it has slowed greatly in mutating, meaning they might be able to isolate its make-up to create a vaccine for it.
In other news, too many people are still ignoring the social distancing thingy. But, Natchitoches looks like a ghost town. My wife and I went for a long walk thru town yesterday. It's crazy quiet...spooky even.

We are finally at the top of a list we actually can be proud to be on, given the circumstances.
In still other news...
a woman went to the Natch Hospital ER claiming she has been exposed to the virus. Of course medical personnel reacted as they are trained to do and treated her case as factual. Meant two nurses and one ER doctor had to be sent home for self-quaranting just in case. Turns out the woman lied saying she just wanted some kind of proof for her employer and that she would then qualify for up to 30 days of pay, while sitting at home, and also expected the check from the Federal guvmint too! Natch Police have arrested her and she is charged with making false statements. It's a misdeamnor and she now has a date in city court.
But, I think this is one of the two cases previously reported for Natchitoches Parish. If true, we have just the one case, confirmed, of the medical staffer at the Cancer Center.

Agreed, I don't trust their numbers, but they actually do what many accuse Trump of doing. When they shut things down they are shut down. I read somewhere that south Korea is tracking peoples phones to make sure they follow the stay at home orders. Also read that one of the other countries (maybe China) was using drones to police the streets looking for people who were leaving their homes unauthorized.
It was an update. Take from it what you will.
They have cameras everywhere in China in the case case.
