Nah, the truth if fine. The democrats and liberal media HATED the idea of the China travel bad. That's well documented. Funny how just changing to say, "what I meant was..." is good enough for the sheeple democrats.

That is an idea promoted by Trump and FoxNews but not something I observed.

You sir are hopeless in Texas! It was all over the news and yes even the fake news of CNN and MSNBC.

As a teenager, college student and now adult, have you always been accused of lacking any common sense? We love our fellow dawgs and you but come on man! That is in black and white. And we already discussed the terrible and fateful decision of the "One World" liberals around the world and our "No Border Dems" per our own American borders and American's safety. I even posted about our border guards catching 500+ Asians crossing our southern border about 6 weeks ago.

    And now this!!! WTH!!

GERTZ: China isolated deadly bat viruses at unsecure lab near Wuhan wild food market...

By Bill Gertz - The Washington Times - Monday, March 30, 2020

Chinese government researchers isolated more than 2,000 animal viruses, including deadly bat coronaviruses, and carried out scientific work on them just three miles from a wild animal market identified as the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Several Chinese state media outlets in recent months touted the virus research and lionized in particular a key researcher in Wuhan, Tian Junhua, as a leader in bat virus work.
The coronavirus strain now infecting hundreds of thousands of people globally mutated from bats believed to have infected animals and people at a wild animal market in Wuhan. The exact origin of the virus, however, remains a mystery.

Reports of the extensive Chinese research on bat viruses likely will fuel more calls for Beijing to make public what it knows about such work.
“This is one of the worst cover-ups in human history, and now the world is facing a global pandemic,” Rep. Michael T. McCaul, Texas Republican and ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said last week. Mr. McCaul has said China should be held accountable for the pandemic.

Chinese Biological Experiments To Infect Humans With Coronavirus Exposed In 2015 By Italian State Media

    by Tyler Durden

Authored by Guido Taietti via GreatGameIndia.com,
Five years ago, Italian state owned media Company, Rai – Radiotelevisione Italiana, exposed dark efforts by China on viruses. The video, which was broadcast in November, 2015, showed how Chinese scientists were doing biological experiments on a SARS connected virus believed to be Coronavirus, derived from bats and mice, asking whether it was worth the risk in order to be able to modify the virus for compatibility with human organisms.

Rush is discussing some interesting points today...

    - Considering the number of Chinese travelers who arrived in California vs. New York during the same time, why is Los Angeles not the "epicenter" of the virus vs New York.

    - US total deaths have now exceeded reported deaths in China.

...why wouldn't any reporter out there want to do a story on this?

Density and use of public transportation would be my guess. LA is expansive like Houston.

Makes sense I suppose, but it also puzzling that MANY, MANY more potential carriers arrived in California than in New York.

Would the "density" of mardi gras explain the high numbers of cases in New Orleans/Jefferson Parish?

1 out of every 221 people in NYC have it.

1 out of 264 people in NOLA have it.

The City of New York is more than 3 times as dense as the City of Los Angeles, with population densities of 26,343 and 7,828 people per square mile. Ruston is a little over a 1,000 per square mile (which may be an over estimate, don't know if they included Tech in or out). Mardi Gras is probably a big issue, population density of New Orleans listed at around 2,300.

    Could weather have some effect?

Do you know the difference in the number arriving in California vs New York?

Do you consider New York more dense than New Orleans? Of course it is by a long shot. I know what mardi gras looks like, but other than that...

There are some really screwy numbers out there right now.

Cuomo is saying numbers are up today while other indicators and experts are seeing a flattening of the curve.

Maybe from China, but NYC is more international than LA. The number of seed cases becomes less relevant over time due to the infectivity (each person gives the virus to 3 others, on average, without self distancing). The density likely influences the factor of the exponent for a given community while the number of “seeds” effects the initial base value rather than the value of the exponent. In simple terms Total cases = (number of initial cases)^(time multiplied by infectivity, which is a function of density/social distqnfing and mitigating factors (use of masks/hand washing). As time increases, the value of the exponent has a dominant effect on the total cases.

I think Mardi Gras both brought seeds into the area and the density as well as lack of social distancing associated with Mardi Gras influenced the infectivity at that time.

I don't recall the exact numbers, but for the most part Chinese travelers arrive on the west coast not on the east coast.

NYC has 8.5 million people, NOLA has 400K. Do the math on those rates and those population sizes. I assume those numbers, the 1 out of ___, is for the city proper. For NOLA that would be Orleans Parish, but not Jefferson, St. Charles, St. Bernard parishes.

New York has done more testing than anywhere else in the world which is influencing their relative performance. Other areas are likely under reporting may a more significant extent than NYC.

The numbers will continue to go up for a little while. What I started seeing in the numbers a few days ago was an inflection in the rate of increase of the increase. The numbers are still increasing but at a slower rate. For an exponential function, you will see that before you see the number of new cases actually decrease.
