"rare" side-effect...
"consult with your doctor to see if it is right for you"
What is this "rare" side-effect, what causes it, what are the traits of those who are affected with said side-effects?
"consult with your doctor to see if it is right for you."
Doctor to patient: I see you have ______ (fill in the blanks) a condition that makes you susceptible to the "rare" side-effects of the drug. I recommend we try something else.
Patient to doctor: But I saw President Trump said we should try it.
Doctor to patient: Oh, he did? In that case...here...take this...
Next patient please!
Paracelsus "All things are poison, and nothing is without poison, the dosage alone makes it so a thing is not a poison."
Read, my friend.
But what would Mayo Clinic’s leading cardiologist know? Probably less than Pawdawg or Trump.
While hydroxychloroquine is likely to be safe for 90 percent of the population, Ackerman said, it could pose serious and potentially lethal risks to a small number of those susceptible to heart conditions, especially those with other chronic medical problems already on multiple medications.
In fact, a small recent study showed that up to 11 percent of coronavirus patients on hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin are in the so-called "red zone" for potential cardiac side effects.
"They've entered the danger zone," Ackerman said. "That is not just my hunch that patients are going to be reacting to this drug — but they are reacting to this drug."
It's kind of like the bogus term "toxic mold." You know that nasty black stuff that can grow in damp areas of your house. The EPA...a federal guvmint agency!...uses that term indiscriminately as if it is toxic, period, to everyone who comes in contact with it. Nope! it is more like poison ivy, if you are allergic to it, it can affect you. And, if you have other respiratory disorders it can cause you some real harm. Or! you can practically cover yourself in it and not be affected even one iota. Now, you may learn of your allergic reaction to it by contacting it, which is like testing the depth of water with both feet! So! it makes sense to assume you are allergic to it and wear PPE's and/or hire a professional to eradicate it for you.
But there is no such thing as "toxic mold."
No, my friend, I don't have to read anything you and NY Times advocates. I have read sources on it. The use of the drug does have some "rare" side-effects. And President Trump has only said dozens of times "to consult with your doctor to see if it is right for you." If your doctor gives you the drug without regard, at all, to the possible "rare" side-effects that's on him/her. When he says "what do you have to lose" he means, and has said, "what do YOU have to lose" by inquiring if the drug is right for you. A patient deep in the throes of C-19 illness is NOT suppose to ask his/her doctor about the possibility of using the drug? Is that what YOU, Goosey, my friend, the NY Times, and a Mayo Clinic doctor are advocating???????? Just shut up and die from C-19! Yeah, that's the ticket!
I don't see what the argument here is. So the doctor should not advice it for that 10%. Are you saying the other 90% should not 'potentially' benefit from its use because it could effect those 10%.
I must be getting started late in the conversation. What are you exactly arguing about its use or Trump's saying it could be of use?
It evolved from this comment (desire) he stated as a question. I replied that nobody has died from taking it. He had NOTHING to come back with other than a Dr. saying it posed some risks. We've know that for weeks. Still...nobody has died from taking it.
Exactly!
I find this piece by my NYTimes update very interesting and proving Dem Cuomo and NYC a very hypocritical by blaming Trump and others In the ADM for something that appears to be their fault; and China’s and WHO/U.N. for sure.

Outbreak kept New York a step behind
On March 2, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said, “When you’re saying, what happened in other countries versus what happened here, we don’t even think it’s going to be as bad as it was in other countries.”
Over a month later, the New York City area has the most cases in the U.S., and far more than many countries have. More than 138,000 people in the state have tested positive for the virus.
A severe outbreak in New York was probably unavoidable — and a disorganized federal response didn’t help — but state and city officials were also hampered by their own confused guidance, unheeded warnings, delayed decisions and political infighting, a review by The Times has found.
But it is what the leftists want. They want so desperately for someone, anyone, to die from the use of the drug so they can blame Trump for it. I think he should issue an executive order, if you're a Dem, a lefty, an anti-Trumper, you cannot be given this drug...even if it will save your life. There will be means test prior to any doctor being able to administer the drug. A bank of questions, a test, to see where your political allegiance lays. If you're a lib...nope! no drug for you. Now, that should make Goosey and his lib friends happy. No chance they will ever be given a drug that has "rare" side-effects.
The other huge culprits in the China flu is going to get hammered by the GOP and hopefully both sides. No more money for you guys and probably a trial in your future. By the way WHO is a subsidiary of the U.N.!

There is no question WHO dropped the ball on this. And then, yes, has done its level best to cover for the Chicoms. I am no fan of the UN and such organizations as WHO, in philosophy. But, if we are to have such an entity it should actually work! The World HEALTH Organization should focus on real, medical science and not ever allow politics, political leanings, to influence them. I think even Goosey would agree with that. In this case it does appear (I will say "appear") that WHO had ulterior motives in reporting/NOT reporting the truth about Wuhan early on.
