I checked out of the current world for the most part the past 24 hrs, burying myself in historical research preparing a presentation I hope to deliver once all this mess is over. So, I have not been paying close attention to the news.
Back to the matter at hand. I don't think it is a good idea to allow the food supply chain to completely tank. Do any of you? No, seriously, is it okay for grocery stores to run out of meat? If you think so, then would it be okay to allow stores to run out of produce: fruits and vegetables? Breads? How about canned goods? So, while I understand his reasoning, I don't like the Federal government ordering private businesses/citizens. Every effort should have been expended to work WITH these companies and their employees to get them back to work.
Of course, all that said. We all know what would happen had Trump not done anything. Grocery stores would run low on food at first, and there would be fights in the aisles. Then rationing, then complete depletion. You think the fear of running out of toilet paper is bad, just wait to see the panic of "NO FOOD!" Then people would be dying in the streets! The lamestream media would show video clips of Venezuela while labeling it some American city. Goosey would be posting, "Orange Man Bad!" he should have seen this coming and invoked the DPA to stop this from happening. Biden would claim "I'd have 20 emergency food processing plants already set up and ready in every state!"
The beat goes on...
