He didn’t try to hard. The Virology Journal - the official publication of Dr. Fauci’s National Institutes of Health - published what is now a blockbuster article on August 22, 2005, under the heading - get ready for this - “Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS coronavirus infection and spread.” (Emphasis mine throughout.) Write the researchers, “We report...that chloroquine has strong antiviral effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage.”

That is not an in vivo study. And there has certainly been a lot learned since 2005. COVID is different coronavirus than SARS and HCQ is not the same drug as Chloroquine.

Also, the Virology Journal is NOT the official publication of the NIH. It is a for-profit journal from the UK.

Fauci was quick to calm the hysteria over the adoption of HCQ as the treatment for COVID - reminding folks that the data did not support the conclusion of its effectiveness.

From the onset of this, there should have been instructional videos on how to properly wear a face mask. Maybe instructional videos cost $20 would have curbed the run on supplies.

I am 100% behind those folks in Michigan that are wanting the state economy open. They have every right...and in my opinion the ARE right.

What I don't understand is the bearded guys running around sporting AR15 rifles in the demonstrations. Seems kind of counterproductive to me. If I were out there with a loaded rifle strapped across my chest, it would be because I intended to USE that rifle (and it appears they are under no armed threat where that would be needed).

I support their right to own and use these weapons, and to conceal carry whatever weapon they desire, but what they are doing distracts from their message as much as if they were all carrying rainbow flags. It makes them look like idiots, too.

Interesting WaPo article on my Apple News Feed relating to Bright’s whistleblower complaint and the Texas N95 mask manufacturer that was offering to open up manufacturing lines for the government.

This COVID thing is over in Tennessee, at least in Williamson County, which is right next to Nashville, but doesn't include Nashville proper. I mean, it's OVER! I've been out and about a lot the last few days, including 4 different "dine in" restaurants in the last 4 days, two different Saturdays at the Farmers Market, and one airplane flight 2 weeks ago. Everybody's pretty much done with the mask thingy.

By my estimation, the Mask wearing is now down to a hardcore 10% or less of restaurant customers. We went to a nice steak restaurant Friday night, and not a single customer was wearing a mask. The servers and hosting staff start their shifts wearing a mask because it was "required" (by somebody). But after just a couple of hours, they too had removed their masks.

It's over. You can come out of hiding now.

Yep, Americans have no concept of citizenship or civic duty. Just a matter of time before we are shutting things down again because folks couldn’t do a couple simple things to control the spread.

    Re: Covid - 19

I have always said I hope this proves to be much ado about nothing. I still do. That's because I am not interested in some political victory or scoring points toward such come November. Clearly the other side is very much interested in that. But, if this is, as it now appears to be, some heads should roll. First on the chopping block is the squawking little Dr. Fauci. At best his credibility is totally shot to hell, at worse he should be brought on charges, and face civil suits for all the economic damage he has caused. That scarf-wearing bimbo is equally guilty of sewing alarm. Now...that is if this turns out as it now appears, to be greatly over-blown.

Why, you may ask, am I singling out Fauci and Birx? Well, there are others, like all those on the take from big pharma that poo poohed the use of HCQ as an effective and CHEAP treatment. They are guilty too and if lives were lost because patients were denied HCQ, they should face the music as well. So, either Fauci is a total moron, and is therefore unworthy to hold the credentials of "supreme" leader in the fight against viral outbreaks, or he knew fullwell it was all BS and was just trying to enrich himself (like algore does in his GW hoax) and is guilty of fraud. And again, he should be brought up on charges of negligent homicide. Either way he, and Birx, and all the others who perpetrated this hoax should pay a price.

That is....if indeed this is much ado about nothing.

You see how I leave myself an opening? Why? Because I don't really know the REAL truth. But those who take it upon themselves to stand in front of cameras day after day and tell the nation, indeed, tell the world that THEY KNOW and tell us all how we should behave had better be correct. There has been REAL damage due directly to what they have said. Not just terrible economic damage but deaths too. IF all of that can be justified because they were right...that is one thing. But, if not, someone has to be held accountable.

It's like the whole HCQ thingy. I had moved on from that issue and then bam! I see brand new articles, and videos of doctors, putting their careers on the line saying Hey! HCQ works! I ask myself if it is not true, why then do these doctors and researchers keep making this claim? That's a fair question I think. Why would they keep publishing results if they were advancing misinformation? So they can "sell" doses of a drug at 50 cents? If HCQ truly DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!! then all these folks will be better off just to shut up about it.

But, IDK. I just know we haven't altered what we do very much day to day...wear a mask while in Walmart or other indoor public places...and it has had minimal effect on me financially. I have no dog in this fight, personally. But many, many folks do, as does our country. But, we'll survive this too.

Doesn't change the truth in my post. Those who have taken it upon themselves to be the all-knowing experts on this virus mess have assumed a huge responsibility, and they had better be right, or they should pay a price for it.

I don't know...yet. I just said IF they were not right in their dire warnings and caused all that collateral damage, there should be some kind of consequence.
