That is incorrect information. The CDC recommends that everyone wear masks when you can’t keep 6 feet distance.

We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms (“asymptomatic”) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (“pre-symptomatic”) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms. This means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms. In light of this new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

....Now just to confirm, this is the same CDC that first recommended wearing masks were not necessary, BEFORE flip-flopping on the issue, right?

Dr. Birx stated in press conference "There is nothing from the CDC that I can trust". That's a pretty bold statement.

    • Birx and others reportedly feared that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's data-tracking system was inflating coronavirus statistics like death rates and case numbers.

    Reading comprehension... from March 2

The virus is not spreading in the general community,” Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the Center for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said in a Jan. 30 briefing. “We don’t routinely recommend the use of face masks by the public to prevent respiratory illness. And we certainly are not recommending that at this time for this new virus.”
In other words, when that recommendation was made we did not have community spread (and we didn’t even know about people spreading asymptomatically). Note also the qualifier “at this time”, which clues into most readers that this guidance could change at a later time.

Your article was from March and they were citing to something that was said more than a month prior.

Everybody already knows all that. But the flip-flop point is lost on you.

What does “at this time” mean (according to common sense and brains) then?

Is that not a qualifier to someone with brains and common sense?

Or does common sense tell you that on January 30 (a day before Trump’s China travel restrictions) that the CDC should have been telling all Americans to start wearing masks at that time?

Sounds like it is your brains and common sense that have been lost to fake news.

German intelligence reports that WHO was in cahoots with China in the cover-up. I didn't hear all the details, but I'm sure I'll be able to find the real truth somewhere on Facebook. Oh wait! FB is deleting such truths.

So as long as someone leads with a qualifying statement...they can’t be held accountable for anything they say. Got it.

Yes, that's the blurb I heard:

German media revealed that China’s president Xi Jinping in January pressured the director of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, to hold off on issuing a global warning about the coronavirus outbreak.According to a January 21 conversation between the two, which cited intelligence from Germany’s federal intelligence service, the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Xi urged the WHO chief to “delay a global warning” about the pandemic and hold back information on human-to-human transmission of the virus, which the BND estimated resulted in a delay of 4 to 6 weeks.

They are still accountable for the statement, but the statement didn’t have an indefinite shelf life.

It is like if I say it is dark at this time (when it is night), and then you try to apply the statement at all times such as during a later day.

When I say “at this time”, the very expression means it is subject to change at a different time.

Well circumstances did change. Now we are about to reopen the economy while cases are still increasing outside of New York. Under those circumstances, people need to wear masks even if they are asymptomatic.

Well, the virus exists, we are still testing....cases will continue to increase and deaths will too. Somehow that is not happening in New York anymore?

At this time I believe Guisslapp to be a moron...please prove me wrong!
