But the article hints at the origin of Cartek’s and others confusion. Low and behold it was a statement made by a Republican politician that distorted a statement made by a state director of public health (Ezike)

The next day, Ezike offered clarification. She told reporters that Illinois was not counting those whose COVID-19 infection had nothing to do with their death.

“We are trying to make sure that things that aren’t related at all to the COVID diagnosis are removed, but if someone has another illness, like heart disease, and then had a stroke or other event, it’s not as easy to separate that and say COVID didn’t exacerbate that existing illness. That would not be removed from the count,” she said.

I am saying Ezike very poorly described how Illinois is counting COVID deaths, it was captured on video, and people are circulating the video without mentioning the fact that Ezike later issued a clarification. So did Illinois Department of Public Health.

But instead of posting the corrected information, the video clip fits the narrative that the pandemic is being overblown, so they pass it to others, and those who it confirms their bias don’t bother to look up whether that is actually how Cook County or Illinois is counting COVID deaths.

It could be no more than a rounding error if they were doing this wrong in the base case. That would not inflate the numbers.

I am not questioning that the video is legit. I am telling you that Illinois has already addressed the misinformation the video contains. People that circulate the video on social media are not telling you about the correction because it doesn’t support the narrative they are pedaling.

The flip side is that the video is the real truth, and reveals that the # of deaths blamed on C-19 has been greatly exaggerated for purposeful misinformation...for political purposes. The subsequent "correction" is part of the cover-up, damage control so as to continue the false narrative.

Sorry, but this woman doesn't come across as a Biden-type who simply doesn't know what's going on. She spoke the real truth, answering honestly in an open press conference. Shortly after that, she was called on the carpet for spilling the beans and the spin masters went to work.

Greatly exaggerated? How many extra people would we be talking about that were Covid positive and died from gunshot or car crash? That has to be a minuscule number even if they were counting it.
