Does anyone know if a person has normal temp, 98.6F or close to that, since not everyone's normal temp is 98.6, can they be a carrier of the C-19 virus and be infectous? Asking because someone I know who is planning an event has purchased one of those pointer thermometers and says that is enough to assure safety. Of course, neither he nor his wife said what they will do if one of their party-animal friends registers 100F or higher...

Fever is one of the most common symptoms for those that are symptomatic. Hopefully no one would come that has had any symptoms, but people violate this line of social respect all the time. And of course there is the possibility of asymptomatic spread. Is it possible to have other coronavirus symptoms without the fever?
It is possible to be infected with the new coronavirus and have a cough or other symptoms with no fever, or a very low-grade one, especially in the first few days. Keep in mind that it is also possible to have COVID-19 with minimal or even no symptoms at all.
Especially me!I told you that you looked like a fool wearing a mask, and you do. Furthermore, everything's "debatable". "Scientists" have been swinging back and forth on this mask thing since January. They really and truly DON'T know what they are doing.
We've just witnessed --up close-- a medical community that was totally clueless and unprepared for this "pandemic". They've been wrong about their data models, the effectiveness of wearing masks, the inevitable 2nd wave, the number of hospital beds and ventilators needed, etc, etc, etc... You name it, they've been wrong about a ton of things, and their professional unpreparedness will end up costing this country incalculably, including peoples lives, careers, businesses and more. These "scientists" have just been throwing shit up against the wall since February, to see if anything sticks. They really don't know any more than you do, which is really scary.
Think about it: We don't need a "scientist" to tell us to stay away from someone who's sick.![]()
This has NOT been a good showing for the worlds "scientific" community.
China Virus: less contagious than the flu, less deadly than the flu. It's time to quit all the silly shit and get back to work!
I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?

Actually, we don’t know that to be true even with your relativistic “particularly” qualifier. There have really only been two studies that have suggested that asymptomatic spread may be less than feared. One was a Chinese study where everyone that was exposed to the patient was wearing masks. The other was a study that showed that asymptomatic carriers may only be contagious for approximately 8 days.
In the end, the likelihood that you contract COVID infection if a function of exposure to the viral particles - specifically the number of viral particles you take in. If you have a long unmasked conversation with a contagious asymptomatic carrier you could be exposed to more viral particles than if you briefly come near someone that is symptomatic.
