Sounds like the Fulton County DA got his marching orders straight from BLM. Gross overcharging of the officers based on gross misapplication of police policy procedures and case precedents.
It just got about 10000 times more dangerous to be a police officer on the streets of Atlanta and the rest of Fulton County.

Political arm-twisting tends to get that result. This is in no way a murder case, much less a death penalty murder case.
If I were to be a police officer (black or white), I would NOT arrest any black perps or investigate anything in the black community. I would focus on protecting MY family by staying out of that morass.
If I saw a crime happening, I might try to focus my camera on it and let someone else take the heat.
Not worth getting killed or going to prison should the arrest go bad.
When there's no longer a police presence in the inner cities, absolute mayhem will ensue. Lots of people will die, and most of them will be black.
