The criticisms that it white washes slavery are legit.

The same people who are going after Elmur Fudd and his shotgun.. and people who are looking to "burn books" because it offense them and is "insensitive"


So, the movie white washes slavery. The movie is a classic and has won 20 different awards. What do you propose we do? Stop watching it, what?

I also think the fact that Trump stated he liked the movie as a classic, there are people are against it for just that reason alone, and I would wager many young people who "dislike it" have never seen the movie.

Not seeing any calls to make it “disappear” or ban it or anything. More that people raise criticisms of its stereotyping blacks and white washing slavery. These flaws when viewed in context of the romanticization of the period makes the story less praiseworthy. Perhaps the time has come that it should not be celebrated anymore.

Acknowledging past evils doesn't mean the US is evil. Most folks I've talked to don't think the US is evil, they just want her to keep her promises.

If they are looking for systemic racism, this is it....but it's not the kind they want to find so they ignore it.

No segregated "group" in America ever achieved equality or greatness, yet the desire is that we continue to have a group of people segregate BY SKIN PIGMENT and rely on the goodness of their benefactors. Mostly these benefactors come in white, but there are those with darker skin that have used the misery of these people to enrich themselves by keeping them hopeless and believing their only way to prosperity is to segregate and CONFORM to beliefs allowed by their race. It's mind boggling. The Civil Rights Act passed in the 1960s!!!!!!!!

Gotta break the cycle. Gotta get school choice (vouchers) so that future generations are not labeled "coons" or "uncle Toms" or any other derogatory terms by attempting to break out of the mold of low expectations (just listen to Biden with his "you aren't black if..." and Michelle Obama with her recent "you can't overcome...." statements if you need to know what they are up against).

How does one convicted violent felon that was high on meth and fentanyl come to represent the entire black experience in America? That too is rather insulting, but it does keep them ignoring that almost 50% of all black pregnancies end in abortion and the fact that more blacks die at the hands of violent blacks (and whites die at the hands of violent blacks) than die via police encounters. This distraction suits the libs and the dem party quite well.

First off regarding 'Gone with the Wind'. I've seen it once and won't watch it again. I probably even slept through half of it. With that said, isn't this a book (movie) of fiction or does it indicate its a portrayal of actually events. I'm certain it inserts certain historical events, but much like all fictional books, it embellishes what it wants and ignores what it doesn't. I don't have the data, but I imagine few of the younger generation have read the book or seen the movie.
