Trump has said people wear masks to show disapproval of him and has made fun of Biden for wearing masks. It is only Republicans on this forum that have mocked the effectiveness of masks. The messaging is playing through loud and clear. And it is helping this disease spread enough to threaten hospitals and new economic lockdowns.
I tried to explain this to Goosey, but he is so locked into the marching orders he receives via his Crystal Radio Set attached to a chain-link fence....that he is incapable of independent thought and assumes his enemies, i.e. real American Patriots, must also receive marching orders. Therefore whatever Trump says/does is seen as 100% MUSTS for his supporters. He cannot fathom the concept of people, who can sometimes, even most of the time, agree with someone but differ on some matters. Admits exceeding discharges by nearly 600 per day now. Even if that trend doesn’t increase, Texas is in big trouble 2 weeks from now. I wish that what I am seeing would give me optimism - and behaviors have improved some - I am just afraid it is too little too late.
