Detroit police release video of man firing at cops before officers fatally shoot him. - Of course a peaceful protest was conducted regarding the shooting.

...and the giant rubber band stretches even further.

Of course this killing does not make national news. CNN would call it a "justifiable homicide." That racist woman should never have said "all lives matter." Clearly she was wrong...her life doesn't matter, apparently.

“Multiple black assailants.” There is an epidemic of black on white crime.

    Maybe systemic racism does exist.

A friend tells me that 00 or 000 Buckshot is not the best choice for use in a confrontation. He uses smaller shot, BBs or #1 Buck. High brass, 12 gauge, and it's game over for the bad guy(s). But another friend has his home-defense 12 gauge loaded with that Winchester HD load of 3 buck/1 slug rounds. I have a single-shot 10 gauge, 3 1/2" magnum with #4 shot (goose/turkey load) just for "kicks," and it KICKS on both ends! I also have a 12 gauge currently loaded with 00 Buckshot, but if someone has a better idea, I can change it.

So, what is your HD favorites...when the BLM thugs come knocking (and dying) at your house?

Most self-defense situations that involve guns are within 21 feet. At 21 feet, birdshot will put a bigger hole in a person than a .45 slug. Plus, the small bb's are less likely to travel through walls where you don't want them to go.

Yep! that is the concern. Which is why I don't keep my .357 magnum by my bed, but rather a .32 caliber. It'll do enough damage to an intruder. Of course, I also have a .410 3" magnum with #4 shot for a quick grab... my dogs would already be tearing an intruder apart, keeping him busy at least. I doubt the intruder would survive the dog attack anyway.

    Re: The Violent Left

Keep in mind, in today's reality, this is more than just dealing with an intruder. What about a mob bent on burning down your house and killing you and your family?

I would start out with my rifles, semi-automatic 30-06, with fast loading 5-shot clips, to "reach out and touch someone." Closer in it becomes shotguns and pistols. I gave my two semi-auto rifles in .243 to my son and daughter for their homes. All I have now in rifles are 30-06's. I might need to get me something else. The advantage though, of having just one caliber is all the ammo is the same. I can see, in the heat of battle, there being some potential confusion digging thru the ammo box searching for the right ones to fit the rifle you are holding. For me, now, having my rifle ammo box next to me, there is no confusion.

I have one bolt-action 30-06 with a big, bad-ass scope on it! It is a 14X scope. I can read license plates close to a half mile away. It's cool. Used it to hunt elk in Colorado once...problem is while you can see the beasties, and I mean really see them, like "oh that one has a dark brown spot on its left ear," even though you can barely make out what it is (a mule deer? a moose? a horse?) with the naked eye, hitting something that distant with all the tricky winds in the mountains, is quite another thing. I did hit the mountain though, saw the dust and rock chips fly!

Now, that 7mm Magnum, whoa! That's a cannon. Loaned it to my nephew as he went up to Alaska on a hunt, right in the middle of vicious Kodiak Brown Bear territory. Never saw a bear, except at a distance, and he missed two shots at an elk or moose or whatever he was trying to hit. Says it is too much rifle...bruised his shoulder. My brother has it until such time I can get it back.

I had the ahem, pleasure, of shooting a .375 Remington Ultra Magnum...once. And once was enough. Unless you want to kill two elephants with one shot, I don't see the need for calibers that big. And, it's nowhere near the biggest round. What's that monster .960 caliber such and such? It's a hand-held cannon!
