"pushing people" is actually recommending. You are demanding more than just recommending. Mandates of any kind are not a sign of leadership in a free nation. Free patriots don't want to be told what to do for their own protection when the rules don't apply to everyone.

I'm saying that we don't want to hear it from him. We are hearing it in/from every direction we turn. "Mask up" is the mantra. Nothing about wearing them properly or distancing, just "mask up". Yes, ignoring the protocols of mask wearing and "staying safe" is weak if the desired enforcement is selective...and you know it is.

Trump has stated that individuals have the personal freedom to wear a mask or don't wear a mask. There have been back and forth "recommendations" on masks and how effective they are. Many "neck gators" that people wear are only "1 ply" and do very little to stop any particles from going into our out of that gator. Yet that is an acceptable mouth covering all over the country.
Scientists know masks are effective in reducing the transmission of the virus.
Do you not believe that more people would wear masks if Trump was more of an advocate and spent less time sewing doubt?

I am not sure a mandate is needed, or would even work if you have the ideological leader of 40% of the nation undermining it.
I think that if Trump would have came out as an outspoken advocate for masks from the beginning, it wouldn’t be a political statement not to wear them.
Fortunately, the Texas SC rejected a Republican effort to invalidate over 100k early votes cast in Houston.
