Coldplay? Come-on, man.
Listened to this album some last night. Not for everyday use, but in the right moments it's pretty fun (and this song is always great).
It's really fun, right?
I considered putting it in a different thread where it might be taken unironically as a description of the immigrant experience, but reconsidered in an effort not to troll.
And if she was singing the names from a Sri Lankan phone book, that would be worth paying to hear. "Abeygunawardena,Arulpragasam, Balasubramanian, Samaranavake, Wickramsinghe." Although I suppose a British phone book would also be worth hearing (it'd have a lot of the same names I guess).
Specifically Psalm 36. The vocal versions are nice, too.
Amanda Shires covering Genesis:
I never understood the attraction for this song. Just don't like it....it sounds like a very poor imitation of an Elton John song, but without the Chorus. When considering the structure of a song, this song goes straight from "verse" to....well, another "verse"...... It never changes, and it never introduces as "chorus", with the band, etc... Don't get me wrong....it's not terrible. It just feels unfinished.....
"Time Has Come Today". -- The Chambers Brothers
This song just screams 1960's......
Now THIS is the best use of a Cowbell. Ever.
