Sure, poor preparation at the state level and ERCOT. But this problem was set in motion a long time ago when Texas deregulated utilities, causing ERCOT to come into being in the first place.

Some of this was practically unavoidable because electricity is still an on-demand utility, but the severity of the shortfall causing people to die in their homes by not having heat for several days is a state issue.

Right, wrong, indifferent...whatever! I know for me, I prefer natural gas for home use and gasoline in my vehicles. You goofy libtards can mount a wind turbine on your dinky little "environmentally friendly" cars, and depend on the sun/wind to power your houses. I support your right to be stupid.

This is as amazing as you blaming bad orange man because your coconut milk went bad.

If we were completely dependent on wind and solar and electric cars right now, we would all be sitting in the dark with dead cars in the driveway.

Edit: Or we would be walking home because those little rinky dink cars wouldn’t make it on ice. Out checking in rental property and I had to help several people in hybrid cars because they couldn’t climb a 3% grade.

Those of in Texas that rely on natural gas are sitting in the dark right now.

This is very true.. despite what Goosey says.. The windmills are shaped very similar to an airplane wing and the curvature requires a smooth leading edge.. When ice forms just as on an aircraft wing, it disrupts the smooth flow of air over the surface and reduces its efficiency. That is why ice buildup on wings of an aircraft can cause a plane to lose lift and ultimately crash.

Obama/Biden along with the jackass Dems ditched and took the coal and natural gas fired power plants offline or haven’t allowed them to be maintained properly. They don’t want fossil fuels and would rather us put Cheerios in our fuel tanks and to heat our houses. Yet America, and truly the south, is the Saudi of natural gas. Liberals politicos (lawyers for the most part) are so stupid where science is involved and yes that includes with Covid.

These idiots can’t even make the right calls to open up the public schools. I bet a majority of the minority Biden voting base wish they had school choice now.

Windmills/turbines and solar panels are so useless is major cold and ice and are not any long term answer. But the power hungry Dems are pushing the BS global warming crap on the country. 😡

I am pretty well connected to multiple points of oil, gas, and petroleum product production. Plants in Texas are burning off gas because their distribution channel has been shut off by Dems. We have plenty of gas, as long as stupid people leave well enough alone.

Texas plants are flaring because they have lost utilities.

ERCOT says the main contributors to lack of power generation are frozen instrumentation at gas, coal and nuclear plants and low natural gas pressure.

Texas has 10% of the energy from wind turbines and solar. They just failed miserably as predicted by so many from day one!!

Yeah, chances are he is much more connected than a family member who is a supervisor at a major company with facilities in Texas, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
