In Texas our natural gas, coal and nuclear power plants shut down because they froze.

They froze because they are not winterized.

They are not winterized because that costs money, and our regulations in Texas do not encourage reliability.

I never said that didn’t happen. But another factor is that plants were not allowed to operate at full capacity without federal approval. So even being deregulated, they were still limited by the Feds in the amount of power they could produce. They were granted permission by the DOE to increase volume on Feb 14.
