My wife and I were talking about this today.. I knew it would kick a hornets nest... I look at it this way.. if you want to wear a mask, wear one.. if you don't.. don't.. If you don't feel comfortable around people who are not wearing masks.. stay home..
You mean like if you need to go to the grocery store, to work, to the hospital, and you don’t want to be around people that could spew their COVID onto you, you should just stay home?
That is kind of flipping common sense public health measures on its head. Especially since Texas is performing below average on vaccinations. One of the few states where teachers still can’t even get them...

If the businesses as you mentioned require patrons to wear masks then you wear masks upon entering the business or don't enter.. it's that simple.. You seem to have a ton of gripes about Texas.. yet seem to have nothing but accolades for CA, OR, or WA.. they have O&G companies out there.. why don't you move out there ? I would think you would be much happier being surrounded by other people who share the same value system as you do..
Law licenses (state bar requirements) are state specific. But I do intend to leave very soon. Austin isn’t that bad, though.

Nope. The historical record of below freezing temps in Texas and across the Bible Belt caused a Godly forced quarantine so-to-speak.
And Austin, while very cool in its own way, is a typical liberal city disaster waiting to happen.
Not much oil and gas in OR or WA. CA has some but the socialist earth worshipers will eliminate it soon enough; that’s unless the oil and gas red states succeed from the republic.

Several years ago I started wearing a mask mowing the yard. No coughing, wheezing, sneezing out those allergic demons afterwards. Will y'all think goofy of me if you drive by and see that now? I wouldn't shive a git.
Several years ago I would occasionally see people walking down the street wearing a mask. Did I shive a git then? No. Must've been following his/her doctor's guidelines.
What Texas did was about the most common sense move there is. We're not policing you, but you have feel like you need to wear a mask, go for it.
