You know this isn’t true. I get you maybe trying to shame people into coming to the remaining games or to get them to let up on their criticisms of Tech not playing better here lately, but in honesty, the fans have absolutely nothing to do with the players’ performance on the field. I can’t help Ray not take strike 3 or Netterville swinging at an outside curveballs, I haven’t walked the first opposing batter or even hit a walkoff HR. It fans truly impacted the game our teams would never lose.
He was being sarcastic.
And certainly the fans can’t play the game for the players. If that were the case, we would lose every game. Now I disagree that fans have no impact on player performance. Baseball is a mental as well as physical game, and fans can provide emotional support to improve the players’ belief in themselves that even though they failed the first two times that they can get up there and do better next time.

Sounds like a fun birthday. As a frequenter of cusa tourneys, they are really fun for the kids.
South Carolina and East Carolina are doing their part to make sure 1-2 CUSA teams host a regional.
Right now:
Bot 5 Memphis 9 ECU 1
Bot 3 Alabama 6 South Carolina 0
Only other thing that could help is Gonzaga losing the weekend series to San Diego.
Memphis run-rules East Carolina 11-1. That loss immediately drops ECU from #11 RPI to #15.
#1 seed ECU vs #4 seed Cincinnati in the first AAC elimination game first thing tomorrow morning.
Florida eliminated Kentucky from the SEC Tournament in the opener earlier. Gators probably lock a host spot if they haven't already with one more win in Hoover.
Just messaged with Mark Etheridge of D1Baseball and he said ECU could fall out of hosting with 2 bad losses in the AAC tournament, but it would require teams currently behind them to do very well in conference tournaments.
The bubble host field didn’t include ECU before but now it seems to. We have
ECU
Gonzaga
Charlotte
South Carolina
Louisiana Tech
Southern Miss
So 3 of the teams below ECU in the current pecking order would have to do very well to knock them out. Right now South Carolina is losing 9-2 to Alabama. This opens the door for a second host from CUSA if my calculations are correct. Just getting to the championship may be enough to host.
Alabama beats South Carolina 9-3.
That drops the Gamecocks from 13 to 16 in RPI and moves ECU back up to #14.
Tulane beats Houston 4-1 to move into the AAC winner's bracket.
