Would have been fun no doubt. Watched the last few innings at a restaurant during a very late lunch. When I got back I looked up Dallas Baptist's baseball program.

    Starte
d in 1970, moved D-1 in 2004. Since moving to D-1 there have been 17 tournaments, this was their 10th and 2nd super regional. They also hosted in 2015. These guys are for real, imagine if they had a P-5 budget.

Baseball does not require a large budget due to limited scholarships. What DBU is able to do is more “stuff” for baseball, but not spend dollar for dollar on sports that lose money. Baseball can at least break even.

How do their facilities stack up against us? Against P-5’s. I would think that is where they could use a big budget. As PD says, scholarships aren’t a big deal in baseball. Having the coolest, latest, and greatest is though.

Random note from a friend about the Ruston Regional. The NC State players said they thought the LEO escort across town was awesome. Made them feel big time. They said the football team gets that everywhere and they never had until Ruston.

    Re: Super Regionals?

After watching the regionals and super regionals, I am convinced that the Rawlings baseballs being used in the tournament are juiced. The number and length of home runs being hit in this tournament with BBCOR bats is unprecedented and hasn't been seen since BBCOR bats were introduced.

If balls continue to carry and fly out of TD Ameritrade during the CWS, there can be no other explanation.

    Horrible park design IMO.

I was thinking the same thing. You’re right, if we see the same thing at the CWS we’ll know for sure.

I don't care about any of the 8 in Omaha. I will, however, be an interested observer and follow the tourney, occasionally tuning in for a few innings.

Objectively, I like Vandy's chances to repeat as champion. But Texas and Stanford are both playing well, and can't forget NC State who is also on a roll.

I'm hoping NC State wins. I think recalling LA Tech's experience with the 2021 NCAA Tournament will be slightly more satisfying knowing we hosted and lost to the very best, the eventual national champion.

Vegas kind of agrees with you as Vandy, Texas and Tennessee are the favorites, in that order. I like Vandy or Texas to win it all. I would pick if I have one pick, due to their starting pitching.

My preference would be NC State or Mississippi State, as my son will be a junior there this year.

To the kids at Mississippi state, it's:

    O - Ole
    M - Miss
    A - At
    H - Home
    A - Again
