Our coroner. who is Chief of Staff at our med center and my personal physician stood in front of us today and told us he has yet to sign a death certificate of anyone in the parish who was vaccinated and died of covid...(now granted we are a small parish)

And he has yet to have to hospitalize anyone with the Delta variant that was vaccinated -

He said to expect 6 to 8 more weeks of rising numbers from this surge -

On the good side he said the Delta variant is not as "aggressive" of the original virus, but it is MUCH more contagious

We haven’t seen as many patients intubated as a year ago. That could be because this variant isn’t as severe or it could be because we avoid intubation for longer, or a combo of both of them. Either way Covid patients are clogging up the healthcare system, and most of them stay for longer stays than your average patient.

In the case of a virus doesn't MUCH MORE CONTAGIOUS = aggressive? If not, perhaps someone can explain the difference.

When he says “aggressive”, I think he means the alpha variant had a higher mortality rate with more severe symptoms. Contagious means it spreads from person to person more easily.

So CDC director just by fiat, extended the moratorium on eviction across the U.S. Biden yesterday even said that it wouldn't pass "constitutional muster"... SCOTUS just declared this extension unconstitutional, yet the admin is basically saying.. "Who's gonna stop us"... So now the CDC director.. a political hack that no one knew even existed 6 months ago is running the country...


So if you are a renter.. you could have stopped paying rent months ago, and not worry about getting evicted.. yet the owners of rental property have not gotten any relief from any of the covid bills and the mortgage companies still expect to get paid each month..

CDC issues a ban on evictions??? They don't have that authority. The SC already ruled that the moratorium is unconstitutional so now the CDC doubles down and thumbs their nose at the SC. Ah, no. To enforce, or not, evictions falls to local LE, in Louisiana, and probably other states, that is the role of the Sheriff. In Louisiana sheriffs have more power than the guvnar! And the CDC does not even exist as far as their authority goes.

I have been fortunate and have had only very limited issues with renters and their ability to continue to pay rent. I have extended some reductions but they paid most of the rent and we have kept open lines of communication and worked things out. For instance, last year when the restaurants were all closed some of my renters, students, were deprived of income for a period, or were able to only secure some income. So, they paid what they could, as they could, in installments. But, overall, my tenants have paid the rent.

This is criminal and they have no intention of stopping it.. so why should I listen to the government?

The NAR (National Association of Realtors) has filed a lawsuit in a district court asking relief against the unconstitutional moratorium on evictions.
