Another note....why do so many people place so much faith in the FDA? It's just another goofy, self-serving bureaucracy, a federal guvmint one at that! I don't trust the FDA all that much. Hell, in this case, they could just pretend to test the vaxxes and proclaim them "good to go!"

There are hundreds of thousands of parents out there that believe exactly that, and refuse to vaccinate their children because of it. They are ridiculed daily. Most believe vaccines cause autism and many other ailments that are being covered up to force compliance.

Oh, they are there in public school just like the rest of everyone else, they just have to get their exemption.

    I'm OK with that.

Need full financial investigation and disclosure for FDA personnel, direct relatives, and all projects those personnel are involved in. Any payments from all medically-related sources need to be fully vetted and documented. Anyone not operating above board needs to be removed.

Any FDA decision not supported by sufficient medical documentation (i.e. politically expedient) should be overruled.

Their army has set up checkpoints to prevent people from traveling more than 6 miles from their homes. It pays to live within 6 miles of a Walmart...

If one had the first shot and not the second (for whichever vax where 2 were required) what is the level of protection, and what should one do at that point, in your (or anyone's) opinion, for protection from the virus?

    https://www.goodrx.com/blog/skip-sec...-vaccine-shot/

That’s a good read. The short answer is, that hasn’t been tested in a clinical setting, so it’s hard to say how protected you are from only one dose of one of the two dose shots.

They were saying what the % of protection was for 1 shot vs. 2 shots for Pfizer and Moderna. Those numbers changed over time, but it was something like 60% protected for 1 shot, and maybe 90% protected for 2 shots. I don't know what the latest estimates are.

There is also a question of durability.

    Vaccines don’t cause autism.

    We know that.

    That was not his point.

Do you think it's okay to make the shots mandatory in order to participate in the things that allow exemptions for other shots/vaccines.

This is roughly my stance and I wish it were one MORE people accepted because more people would be vaccinated.

    The vaccines are safe.
Masks are only mildly inconvenient. I rather like some of mine.
If the experts are wrong about it, then I am mildly inconvenienced.
If the experts are right about it, then I am helping to end a pandemic.

I am having a hard time trusting Donald Trump, Fox News, Reddit or some other source than doctors and nurses I know who have way more boots on the ground insight than I will ever have on this pandemic.

I am watching a couple of people in my family possibly suffer the fate of losing a mother and a step-father to COVID. Their prognosis is grim. I am shocked more people are not faced with this reality and having to come to terms with the question of "what if they had taken the vaccine". To me, it makes the choice a no brainer.

Most of us have someone close or know someone who had not had the shots, got sick or died, and we don't understand why they would take the risk.

Your crack on conservatism was totally unnecessary, but that seems to be a pattern in your posts.

    LOL.

How about Fauci, you trust him? I asked Goober that question and he refused to answer.

    You trust the CDC?

They’ve both been wrong numerous times.

Having said that, I agree on the vaccine. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

The masks, not so much. It’s been proven they are for the most part ineffective.

Saw a video yesterday of a immunologist showing how he could fog up his glasses with his breath THROUGH 5 MEDICAL MASKS! The moisture that you see when you clean your glasses or breathe out in the cold is the same as the “droplets” that can spread infection. Masks don’t stop that.
