Are the studies you post better, or do they just point to your desired outcome? From some examples I ran across in the past, they started with the premise that masks must work and then proceeded toward that outcome. Kind of like someone asking me to do an appraisal on their house while telling me that they expect to list it for $300,000. Now subconsciously, I am going to seek out sales which point to that number regardless of their comparability. Human nature.

As I explain, they deal with the issue of confounders. For example, states that are more likely to make mandates do so when infection is already widespread.

Various confounders are discussed in great detail here:

This is a very good read if you really want to understand the data.

And if you consider the narrower case - “should masks be mandated in schools?” - the case is very compelling.

They weren’t happy that the CDC was being allowed to step into the FDA’s lane. And that is a fair criticism. The FDA is the regulator of vaccines, the CDC’s job is to provide advice to doctors.

There has been...and it's getting worse... a lot of guvmint bureaucraps getting out of their lane, and the CDC has been one of the worst such offenders. They were doing that last year, under Trump too, so this is not just another Biden goof-up. Of course I do not expect to see Biden try to correct this either.

Especially when the head of the CDC extends the rent moratorium to not allow people to have to pay rent or get evicted. She has absolutely no authority to do that, and the Supreme Court slapped her down..

Being on the Board of Directors for the local hospital I am privy to all information. Our CEO emails us regularly with updates and provides information that is not released to the public. We do release public announcements weekly on a "need to know" basis. But truthfully, given Natchitoches Parish's, and the surrounding parishes, track record on following mandates and "strong recommendations" I doubt it would matter if all info was released.

It ain't pretty right now. Our new "progressive care" facility, an additional 6 ICU beds, has also been overwhelmed. We are presently out of options and lack the means to expand ICU any more. There was already a shortage of ICU beds in the state and that has now worsened in the wake of Hurricane Ida causing issues at hospitals in SE Louisiana. If Trump was president maybe the two navy hospital ships would be sent to us. That would help.

All I can say, from my little piece of the world is, this is real folks.

This for real? I find it hard to believe he was actually allowed to go on like that without being cut off. I suspect this is a doctored/edited piece made to look like a real open mic event.
