There was a time when this board could make enough noise to at least be noticed, there is not enough of us left now to even get them to re-examine the tailgating policies.

I give Holtz some credit for helping stabilize things, but that is just about it other than being a really nice guy. When he was hired his employers fans tried to tell us, and things have played out almost EXACTLY how they told they would. His offenses became more boring every year, no one wants to watch it, especially when we are losing and you know there is no chance of a comeback. This year is the culmination of all of those games we competed in, only winning games we were supposed to, no CCG, never winning games that we are underdogs in.

Yes it is time to move on, but how do we make it happen, it starts with the fans.

How many times did Chris Peterson win games he should not have? What about games he should have won even though the other team is good? Same for Gary Patterson before P5 days? Appy State coach? Other successful coaches at non P5 schools? 2 bad seasons, yes. However, The bottom line is not the performance of our coach. Why are we not allowed to expect the same as other schools expect?

Outside of bedroom scandal, a coach has to have three consecutive non-winning seasons before he or she is dismissed from Tech. It's gonna get worse before it gets better.

(But in the extremely unlikely event he still manages to win out and get to 7-6, the clock resets.)

But this is a snowball roiling down hill headed strait for Hell! If he wins, they will be mediocre wins, and his losses are quite often much worse than they appear on the scoreboard. We have key players miss the rest of season because of grades or drugs and that is not a one time occurrence. This will only get worse, I just really hate to sit idly by and watch this train wreck.

If you began listing all of his screw ups from every year since he has been here, you would see it is a worsening pattern, there is no turning it around. If you could listen to every call in show, post game interview, pre-game interviews, everyone would see it is the same things over and over and becoming more frequent and damaging. You have a micro-managing coach who has no business managing at all. He has a history of hiring assistants that no one else wanted, Many Diaz being the exception. He has ran his course here and things will only worsen under his watch, He is costing this university and the City of Ruston and it's business' money.

I know most all of us recognize it, but really, who do you have to get to that will listen and who actually cares?

I wish HCSH the best, but he, our AD, and prez need to recognize this and try to bring a civil end to it. It is time for him to move on and stabilize someone else's program.

Actually, I know what you're saying, but if we lower the expectation to less than 4 wins, even though we all know it's his fault it's not 9 or 10 wins, Holtz will get credit.

If a coach who’s been in place as long as Skip needs a miracle to get to 4 wins, you know everything you need to know about his ability to lead the program.

No, Zach, what is sad is there were numerous warning signs that seasons like 2020 and 2021 were coming. This train wreck could have been avoided, but a number of people chose to ignore the danger and be complacent.

You know Brad, it is all your fault I even care about Tech athletics. I was a go home and watch my old high school team each weekend guy until you kept trying to convince me that we had a JC transfer QB coming in that was going to set the world on fire. I didn’t believe you until I went to the first game in ‘97 and I was hooked. So you are to blame for me even being here.

Between 2000 and Skip’s arrival we had 5 winning seasons out of 13. Since Skip has been here we have had 6 out of 8 winning seasons until this admittedly depressing season. Sure, if there were no buyouts or Skip was in the last year or two of his contract, fine, move on. But unless there are donors willing to pony up $2.55 million to fire him and another $1 million extra each year to attract a head coach and staff that can live up to even higher expectations, then what is anyone supposed to do?

Personally, I’m in the camp that he’s had enough long term success to get next year and if it doesn’t turn around then move on and buyout the last two years. But if you really want us to tank, add the uncertainty of a new coach with the uncertainty of a new conference arrangement and it may take years to dig out of that hole just to get back to just beating the teams with losing records and winning a lot of bowl games that is so embarrassing.

But again, my original point was that you can’t fire a guy who went 10-3 unless something really shady is going on. If you do, not even Art Briles would come be our coach.

Whoever the coach is next year, we either need JUCO or transfer help on the Oline, and his buddy needs to take a hike. However, I’m still firmly in the he (Holtz) must go camp. Schedule money games if you must to pay for it. Learning lessons is sometimes painful, and Tech is hopefully realizing the debilitating effect that hiring an inexperienced and amateur for AD can have on a program.
